Tomakomai rock band NOT WONK released the lead single “Embrace me” from their new album today, December 25th (Wednesday).
After releasing his 4th album “dimen” in 2021, Shuhei Kato (Vo./Gt.) started his solo project SADFRANK and released his 1st album “gel” in 2023. In addition, in March of this year, a split tour was held with US indie rock heavyweights SUPERCHUNK and NOT WONK, and in October, the first lead single from the album, “Changed”, was released. He has had many intense times and expressions, such as holding “FAHDAY 2024”, an exchange of expressions with his friends.
The second lead single, “Embrace me,” is a song sung gently using NOT WONK style bossa, and expresses a melancholy poetic feeling through relationships with others with whom you can’t understand. .
Furthermore, details of their 5th album “Bout Foreverness”, scheduled to be released on February 5th (Wednesday), were also announced. Contains a total of 7 songs, including previously released singles “Asshole”, “Changed”, and “Embrace Me”. “Asshole” includes the band version recorded for the album. Yosuke Tsuchida, who has worked on many of NOT WONK’s works in the past, participated in the artwork this time as well, using photographs by photographer Shusaku Yoshikawa.
In addition, the title of the one-man tour in support of the new album, which will begin next February 27th (Thursday) at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO in Tokyo, has been decided as “NOT WONK ONEMAN TOUR “Bout Foreverness””. Tickets are currently available on a second-come, first-served basis at Ticket Pia.
