Kazumasa Oda’s special music program “Christmas Promise 2024” began streaming on U-NEXT for unlimited viewing from December 25th.

■This is the last “Christmas Promise”. Tracing the history we have created together with numerous artists
“Christmas Promise”, which began in 2001 with a letter from Kazumasa Oda asking artists to collaborate with him, has announced that the program will be aired for the last time in 2024, which can be considered the milestone of its 20th broadcast. At the time of recording, Kazumasa Oda said, “There are so many artists that I would never have met if I hadn’t done “Christmas Promise.” And it was because of the artist friends who made the program with me that I was able to create the program that I wanted to create. It was an irreplaceable time in my musical life. I’m glad I continued doing it. I feel that way from the bottom of my heart,” he said of his thoughts on the program.

In the program, they performed the song “I Can’t Put It Into Words,” which was performed in the first broadcast, and the newly written song “Kono Hi no Koto,” which is about the program’s theme of “artists celebrating each other.” For the encore, they sang “Kira Kira Kira” and “Love Story wa Sudden” along with the audience, getting the entire venue involved. The program will also feature valuable archive footage looking back on the 20-year history of “The Promise of Christmas,” as well as a number of famous songs, both Western and Japanese, that we want to pass down to the next generation.

Furthermore, U-NEXT will distribute “Christmas Promise 2024” as a director’s cut version that includes unreleased scenes that were not included in the broadcast.

■“Christmas Promise 2009”, which became a hot topic for its large medley “22 minutes 50 seconds” that connects each artist’s songs, will be exclusively distributed for the first time with the content as it was broadcast in 2009!
“Christmas Promise 2009” is an episode that was aired as a result of Kazumasa Oda’s project that he had always wanted to try. An overwhelming number of artists, 34 in 21 groups, came together to sing “22 Minutes 50 Seconds,” a large medley of songs by each artist that lasted approximately 22 minutes and 50 seconds, which became a hot topic at the time. U-NEXT will exclusively distribute “Christmas Promise 2009” with the original content at the time of broadcast.

In addition, U-NEXT will feature some past broadcasts, including “The Promise of Christmas…You Will Never Come,” which aired in 2001, as well as a special spring music program presented by Kazumasa Oda and the production team of “The Promise of Christmas.” “A song was flowing like the wind” is now available for unlimited viewing.
