■Masaki Suda’s goal for 2025 is “to hit 10 times”
Mister Donut’s new TV commercial “Misdo meets PIERRE MARCOLINI” starring Masaki Suda, “Detailed Commitment” (15 seconds), began airing nationwide on January 10th.
This new TV commercial is a simple set that expresses the stylish worldview of Pierre Marcolini, a chocolate brand that is a purveyor to the Belgian royal family, and the story is about Masaki Suda’s first encounter with the new product “Pierre Marcolini Collection.”
Under the precise camera work that moves between two-dimensional and three-dimensional images, Suda picks up the product with great anticipation, and the moment he takes a bite, he is moved by the texture and murmurs, “Moist and crunchy.” Through this campaign, we will promote the launch and appeal of the “Pierre Marcolini Collection,” which has many layers of texture and flavor that are meticulously layered.

■Stick to the set that expresses Pierre Marcolini’s minimalist worldview
Regarding this set, Suda was told by the director, “It was inspired by Pierre Marcolini’s packaging.” Faced with a carefully thought-out, minimalist worldview in which only two colors are used, white and black, Suda looked over the entire set from a distance and said, “It’s really stylish as a spatial presentation, isn’t it?” , and it seemed that the world view had become their favorite.
■Produce precise camera work
In the commercial shoot, he produced a distinctive camera work that smoothly transitions between two-dimensional and three-dimensional images. Suda checked the playback each time, searching for angles and ways to eat the products that would make them look the most appetizing. Even in the last cut, when he was waving his tact, he was pursuing the best shot while actively discussing with the director whether it would look more impressive with one hand or both hands.
■Suda was surprised at how good the new product melts in the mouth.
While setting up, Suda was having a great time talking about the new product “Pierre Marcolini Collection” with the director and cameraman. He ate all five types before filming, and was smiling as he gave a tasting report to the staff who hadn’t tasted them yet, saying things like, “I was surprised that it melted in my mouth better than I expected.”
■Masaki Suda interview
Q. Please tell us your impressions of the shoot.
Suda:The solid-looking set of the “Pierre Marcolini” brand package was very stylish as a spatial direction, and I felt fresh for the shoot. Although it was rich, it had a lightness to it, which was cool, and it was fun because it felt like looking at art in a museum.Q. What do you think after trying the new product “misdo meets PIERRE MARCOLINI”?
Suda:It was very delicious. I once again realized that chocolate is really delicious. What I like most about this series is “Chocolat Moo Fashion,” which has a crispy texture and melts in your mouth. That surprised me.Q. Mr. Suda, please tell us about your special products, which are meticulously assembled.
Suda:When it comes to art paintings and posters that are displayed at home, I go to a lot of frame shops to find a frame that fits. The rest is old clothes. Some of the items I purchase from collectors cannot be washed at home, so I clean them thoroughly before storing and managing them.Q. This “Misdo Meets” series brings out the strengths of both “Mister Donut” and “Pierre Marcolini,” but as you balance your acting and music activities, do you think the experience of one has had a positive impact on the other? What do you feel like you are there?
Suda:There are many. For example, by starting voice training for music, I no longer lose my voice on stage. Also, when it comes to using the stage during live shows, even if the stage staff asks you to stay in this area for about 5 seconds, you can stay there without thinking about it. I feel that the experience I have is very useful. It’s like a way to fill in the gaps.Q. One of the attractions of the “misdo meets” series is the joint product development with various brands, but is there anyone or anything that you feel lucky to have met?
Suda:There are a lot of people I’m glad to have met, such as senior directors and actors. When you’re an actor, there are many things that you wouldn’t be able to experience if you were just living a normal life, such as handling fish, boxing, riding horses, and wearing kimono, but I’m glad I got to experience them all. I think so. Personally, when I get into something, it’s surprisingly long-lasting, and I’ve been doing fish cutting and boxing ever since I met them.Q. This product has a luxurious finish and is perfect as a gift for your loved ones, but what gifts did you give to your loved ones recently?
Suda:I gave a scarf to a friend. When I buy it myself, it tends to be black, gray, or brown, so I chose a cute beige-pink that I wouldn’t be able to choose for myself. I like giving gifts to others. The other day, I invited the hairstylist who was in charge of my haircut to boxing, and he seemed quite into boxing, so I wanted to make him even more into it, so I gave him a T-shirt with a boxer named Gervonta Davis printed on it. I gave it to you. Then I start researching and thinking, “Who is this?” I think it’s fun to see things like that.Q. Mr. Suda set a goal of “4R” in 2024 because he wanted to “build his body through boxing.”But were you able to successfully achieve that goal?
Suda:I was able to achieve it. Of course, it may not be possible to go for a full four rounds in a real match, but I’ve become able to do it in practice.Q. Lastly, please tell us your goals and aspirations for 2025.
Suda:It’s “dead weight ten times”. Lately, there has been a training boom, with more and more people doing muscle training at home or going to personal training sessions, and I’ve heard the phrase, “Muscles are the name of the game” (lol). I myself am building my body through my role, and I want to build a good body, so in 2025 I would like to set a goal of lifting my own weight 10 times on the bench press.
