Ringo Starr’s new country album “Look Up” will be released on Friday, January 10th!


Universal Music LLC (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Fujikura / Universal Music) has released Ringo Starr’s first full-length album in six years, “Look Up.” It will be released on Friday the 10th of the month.

Ringo Starr has been a lifelong lover of country music, including his time with The Beatles (including songs such as “Act Naturally,” “Don’t Pass Me,” and “Don’t Pass Me.” He has performed/composed many country songs and country-style songs, both during his time with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. This is his first country album in over 50 years and his first full album since 2019.

Produced and co-written by T. Bone Burnett, it features 11 original songs recorded last year in Nashville and Los Angeles. Nine of the 11 songs were written by T. Bone Burnett, either alone or in collaboration, with one by Billy Swan and the other by Ringo Starr and Bruce Sugar. It has been composed. Ringo Starr sings and plays drums on all songs, and also contributed to the songwriting for the closing number, “Thankful,” which features Alison Krauss.

For this album, T. Bone Burnett enlisted some of today’s Nashville’s best and brightest, including Alison Krauss, Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Lucious, and Molly Tuttle. The lead track, “Time on My Hands,” was produced by T. Bone Burnett in collaboration with Paul Kennerly and Daniel Tashian (who is also a co-producer on the album along with Bruce Sugar).
