It has been announced that Kumi Koda, who will celebrate her 25th anniversary since her debut in 2025, will appear for the first time on “SONGS”, which will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 10pm on January 23rd.
Koda became a big hit with the movie theme song “Cutie Honey” and went on to create a number of hit songs such as “Ai no Uta,” “Butterfly,” and “Koi no Tsubomi.” In 2006, she ranked number one in total sales for the year, and in 2007 she held a solo performance at Tokyo Dome, making her a member of the top artists, but her path was not always smooth sailing.
In this edition of “SONGS,” we thoroughly interview three key people deeply connected to Koda’s turning point. My comrades from my early days, my benefactors who helped create “erotic cool” with me, and my family who supported my career as a singer. What is her true face and the conflicts she faced through the testimonies of key people?
In addition, program director Hiroshi Oizumi approaches the secret to maintaining his outstanding style and powerful performance even at the age of 42. Koda, who says, “I don’t do any special exercise” and “I love eating,” reveals his “habits” for building his body.
