The two had been heading to a meeting in the morning, but they suddenly received a phone call informing them that it had to be cancelled, and Yamada happily whispered to Okada, “Morning time.” When Okada heard this, a parody of the “radio gymnastics song” echoed in his head, and he exclaimed with joy, “Kita ki ta ki ta!”

■Photography episode
◇It’s been 3 years since we first performed together. Okada & Yamada in a friendly atmosphere
It’s been three years since Junichi Okada and Anna Yamada started playing the roles of a company boss and subordinate in the “Asa Mac” commercial series. This day’s shoot was a chance to reunite for the first time in a while, but the two, who have worked together many times before, enjoyed talking in a friendly atmosphere. The shooting starts with a scene where they are eating “Morning Mac” on a park bench. In the scene where he stands up in the morning sun and holds up a “sausage and egg muffin,” Okada screams “It’s a nice morning!” from the rehearsal stage, surprising the surrounding staff, demonstrating his “enthusiastic performance” from the very beginning of filming. He was surrounded by loud applause.
◇“I’m going with a big bite!” Yamada approaches the “tabe-cut” with enthusiasm.
“Tabe cut” photography was taken by Yamada. Yamada accepted the large “mega muffin” prepared by the cooking staff with both hands, and although he was overwhelmed by the volume, he was fully prepared, saying, “It looks delicious.” Yamada has surprised those around him with his dynamic performances such as “Eating 2 Hash Potatoes” in previous commercials, but this time too he expressed his enthusiasm by saying “I’m going to eat a big mouth!” and went into the actual filming. Yamada often eats “Morning Mac” even in his private life, so the way he ate it with his mouth wide open and the delicious look on his face were perfect, and he smoothly won the OK take.
◇Okada shows a surprised expression at the unexpected “one shot OK”
Next, Okada, who was filming, received a “sausage and egg muffin” and began simulating the act of eating it while enjoying the fragrant aroma. When the preparations are complete and the signal to start is given, Okada takes a powerful bite and closes his eyes as he slowly savors the taste. The director, who had been watching closely until Okada finished his performance, gave the signal for “cut” and then said, “Yes, it’s OK!” and announced that “one shot is OK,” and he had just finished his first take. Okada was surprised but smiled, saying, “Oh, one shot!?”
◇Refraction 3 years! Boss and subordinate finally feel closer! Okada, who plays the boss, is also happy…
In the scene where Yamada learns over the phone that a scheduled meeting has been cancelled, and whispers that it’s “Morning Mac Time,” Yamada goes from a low tone as he prepares for work to a high-contrast performance that instantly raises the tension on set. Okada was excited. Although there has been some distance between the roles of boss and subordinate that he has played in the past, the setting in this work gives a sense of intimacy, and Okada also said, “I wonder if we’ve been able to communicate better now that we’re in our third year together.” (laughs)” and analyzed the character settings. Yamada also said that acting became more fun because he and his boss became good friends.
◇Okada’s roar echoes through the morning streets… Yamada can’t help but smile at his powerful performance!
In the scene where Okada cries out with joy at the unexpected “Morning Mac Time” due to the sudden cancellation of a meeting, he is overwhelmed by the powerful performance, and is stunned while holding back his laughter. Yamada. Okada made a plan to act with a bit of over-action, and Yamada knew this in advance, but Okada’s acting level, shouting “Kitaki takita kita!” in the middle of the road, exceeded his expectations, so Yamada, who was next to him, Of course, the actors and film crew who played passersby around the scene looked wide-eyed and surprised.
■Junichi Okada & Anna Yamada Interview
――Please tell us your impressions of co-starring in the TV commercial for “Asa Mac”, which is your third year appearing together.
Okada:It’s already been three years. Hey… Yamada-san has become an older sister (lol). Something like an adult woman.
Yamada:Thank you for saying that every time (lol). I think it’s an honor to be here for the third year, and at the same time, I’m really happy to be able to work with Mr. Okada as a morning face.
Okada:Are you okay? I have a fairly dark face (lol), so I was a little worried that it would get darker in the morning, but I’m glad that they accepted it (lol).
Yamada:It really cheers me up, “Okada-san in the morning” (lol).
Okada:There’s no one so refreshing in the morning, Mr. Yamada.
Yamada:I’m happy. But because I’m called the morning representative, I feel like I have to stay fresh.
Okada:I’m also trying to be as refreshing as possible (lol).–In the new commercial, you are eating Mac in the morning at a “different time than usual.” Please tell us what you would like to do if you had the chance.
Yamada:Since it’s winter…snowboarding. I’ve never done it before.
Okada:I want to try it! I haven’t really done much winter sports.
Yamada:My parents have taken me skiing since I was little. (Snowboarding) means that your feet are on the board…I want to try it.
Okada:surely. I want to go. It would be cool if you could do a halfpipe or something. I…I want to have a mohawk (hairstyle). Once in a lifetime! In my life, I didn’t have much freedom with my hairstyle because I had a role to play. I’ve never really liked it myself, so I’d like to try wearing a mohawk someday. Once, I shaved my head for a drama, and halfway through, I had a mohawk made into a mohawk, and he said, “You look great.” That’s why I watched it once. What would happen if (I) wore a mohawk? I wonder if there is a role like that…I can’t do it because I won’t be coming (lol). In the morning Mac (commercial), I’ll probably be taken down with a mohawk (lol).–What would you do if you suddenly had some “gap time” like your morning meeting was canceled due to a new commercial?
Yamada:I guess it’s checking my phone or replying to replies I’ve saved up. I’m the type of person who hoards money…If I’m not good at it, I won’t be able to pay it back for a few months, which I don’t think is a good thing.
Okada:I’m extremely fast, and I’m the type of person who responds immediately when contacted. I…I was singing out loud in the car driving to the filming location (lol). I was alone in the car, so when I felt sleepy, I thought, “Let’s just sing,” and I started singing along to myself (lol). I came to this scene enthusiastically singing a song by a certain artist who writes lyrics that say, “Maybe he’s writing a song for me” (lol)–The commercial says, “A hot morning has arrived,” but please tell us about your favorite boom that is likely to become hot in 2025.
Yamada:I was addicted to blocks…I started to get addicted to doing them silently by myself. There is one for adults. You can make a telephone booth, etc., and it costs a little more. Recently, it has become a bit popular for me to buy things and assemble them silently by myself. I also like puzzles.
Okada:I couldn’t really do that kind of thing. My sister used to do puzzles a lot and I thought it was amazing, but I just couldn’t do it at all. If that’s the case, I’d rather be doing squats… (lol) What I’ve been promoting lately is something called the 90 degree rule. It’s a little hard to convey, but the angle here (knee) is 90 degrees, and this is where the most force is applied. Please don’t ask me where I recommend it (lol). This is my boom and I want to make it to the extreme.–Please give a message to the viewers who will watch the new TV commercial.
Okada:This new commercial features McDonald’s classic “Morning Mac” and encourages people to eat Morning Mac on a different morning to liven up their mood.
Yamada:The schedule for the morning meeting has changed. The morning business meeting was canceled. In such a case, let’s get excited in the morning with the set of “Sausage Egg Muffin” and “Mega Muffin” from “Asa Mac”.
Okada:Good morning, Morning Mac. Please continue to enjoy your time at McDonald’s.
