When I was a student, I was afraid of what people would think of me no matter what I did. I wrote the lyrics thinking about what I wanted to say at that time, and what I want to say to myself now. I can now think, “I wish I had tried everything, even though it was scary,” so I put my thoughts into it, “I wish I could take the plunge and give my future self lots of presents and surprises.” It’s my first song as an artist, so I think it’s a present I can give to my future self.
