Mitsuto Lee once told me, “I’m glad Suzuki was Mr. Nakajima.” I don’t think there are any words that make me happy. The relationship between Kigigi and Suzuki, and Kigigi and Aoki, is difficult and special. There’s something about these two that can’t be summed up simply by the words “bromance” or “buddy.” When I express that, I think that I have to be able to embrace this person (Itagaki), or rather, have him truly trust and accept me. Although firewood is strong, it is also fragile, so Suzuki is accommodating and Aoki is supportive.
