Details of brkfstblend’s 1st album “brkfstblend” have been announced.

brkfstblend was formed in 2023 by Michael Kaneko × Keity (ex. LUCKY TAPES) × Tetsuji Kasuya (ex. Yogee New Waves), and attracted attention with their 1st EP “City Habits” released last year. The release date of the first album “brkfstblend” has been changed to Wednesday, February 5th. Part of the song was recorded in Bangkok, Thailand, and the emotions felt there greatly influenced the overall atmosphere.

In addition to the standard live songs “2am”, “City Habits”, “Fine Love”, and “nyc”, “Ladyland” is reminiscent of the AOR of yesteryear, and brkfstblend’s first instrumental song “odisea a la quinta dimensión, 1979”. , “nam keng”, which is full of Thai groove, and “space and”, a spacey disco song with a floating feeling. It consists of 11 songs, including original songs such as “Time” and a cover of Al Green’s classic “Let’s Stay Together.” The CD, which will be released exclusively at live venues, will also include a remix of “City Habits” by Keity.

The artwork is by up-and-coming illustrator Cream Ecoes. This work depicts brkfstblend’s music illuminating a fictional city in a vivid and surreal manner.

In addition, ahead of the album, “sober”, which is said to be a brkfstblend style bedroom music song, will be distributed as a lead single on Wednesday, January 29th. Unlike their previous AOR-style songs, the song features an overall soft sound influenced by Asian indie pop, but the band’s rock side explodes in the second half, ending with a pleasant intensity.
