The March issue of “Soen” (released on January 28th) features a popular project “costumes”. The exhibition spotlights costume creations from various parts of the world, and introduces the charm of each costume, including the people who make it and the people who wear it. Many notable artists from various music genres will also appear!

■Costume that reflects Aina the End
Aina The End stands on stage, creating music with her own words, melodies, and choreography. Stylist Ai Suganuma has been in charge of the “costumes” that are a part of the music world that reflects her. What costumes were born from the encounter and chemical reaction between two people of the same age, good friends, and good comrades in arms? Introducing four types of costumes that are important to the couple, including the costumes for their long-awaited Nippon Budokan performance “ENDROLL,” along with the styling of a special version for Soen. In addition, in the conversation, the stylists and performers clearly talked about their thoughts on costumes from both their perspectives.

Fashion designer Keita Maruyama’s brand “KEITAMARUYAMA” is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and two exhibitions will be held in September 2024 with the themes of “fashion” at Omotesando Hills and “costumes” at Laforet Museum Harajuku. Furthermore, in December, “KEITAMARUYAMA 30th Anniversary x DREAMS COME TRUE 35th Anniversary Celebration ‘Large Costume Exhibition’ -Osaka LOVER-” will be held at Hankyu Umeda Gallery. Takahisa Masuda’s serial “MFBB”. This issue introduces NEWS tour costumes created by Masuda. Masuda has been working on NEWS’s tour costumes for over 10 years. More than 20 years have passed since the group was formed, and the 2024 tour “JAPANEWS” was created by revisiting the origins of NEWS and the current NEWS. What is the costume that was born from the current NEWS and Masuda’s “Japan” roots? In addition to newly shot visuals of people wearing the original costumes they created, all the costumes from the “JAPANEWS” tour, including the costumes of the members and dancers, will be delivered with explanations from Masuda.

■Super exciting ♡ Advertising department’s “exciting costumes”
Super Tokimeki♡ Sendenbu is one of the most shining idol groups in 2024. “Superlatively Cute” has become a huge hit on TikTok, and has been viewed more than 1.2 billion times since its release. This time, we will focus on the costumes that embody the “orthodox cuteness” that these girls have always maintained. The pastel-colored princess-style costume from their latest song, “How about you?” and the special outfit for Tokinobu, chosen by the members, “Ikuze!” A special photo shoot was held in which the members wore two types of sequined costumes from “Cho Tokimeki♡ Advertising Department at Yokohama Arena”, and each member’s thoughts on the costumes were also revealed.
