Collaboration song release between Rangga Jones from Singapore and QUARAW & nomoe from Fukuoka

The co-written single “I Like It feat. nomoe” by Singaporean singer Rangga Jones and Fukuoka-based producer unit QUARAW was released today, Friday, February 28th.

This song was born in the Co-Light session of “The Creators x Co-Write DAY” held in Fukuoka last October. This is a mellow and pop song with a 90’s R&B feel, featuring Fukuoka’s SSW nomoe. The lyrics depict an addictive love story that you can’t get out of once you’re hooked.

The release label comes from AZIAFLY, which was born from Co-Write DAY, hosted by Namy&, which has worked on Snowk, AmPm, Tokimeki Records, and more.

It was a truly amazing experience to create it with QUARAW and nomoe. We quickly met and gathered in the studio to come up with top line ideas together. The lyrics were born naturally, so there was no need to force them to create anything. QUARAW’s beats featured a very catchy chord progression, and the drum and percussion approach were unique, making the overall song stand out.

“I Like It” was produced at BOAT in Fukuoka, a studio of Rangga, nomoe and QUARAW, who came from Singapore.
The two of them created a soulful and catchy melody at an incredible speed. It was a very exciting time.
I will never forget the time I chilled with them on the studio or on the roof of the studio. It’s also a great memory of being able to perform this song on the band set in front of a large crowd. I think this song involves chemical reactions that both of us couldn’t produce on our own.

Being involved in the production of “I like it” was quite inspiring to see how musicians of the same generation of the world’s active musicians were dealing with music up close. I was always overwhelmed by how they properly judged the ideas that came up and proceeded with the production. What was particularly impressive was the word “Don’t overthink” by Ranga. It was an eye-opener for me to realize that good songs can be produced without thinking too much.
