NS DANCEMBLE hosts "We Are" event hosted by BIGYUKI to live act

The project “We Are” by NS DANCEMBLE will be held at Yoyogi Uehara OPRCT in Tokyo on Saturday, April 12th.

NAGAN SERVER and DANCEMBLE is a unit that focuses on rapper/wood bassist NAGAN SERVER, with keyboard player TAIHEI (Suchmos), drummer Matsuura Chinobu, bassist Jinya (DAN), and trumpeter Terakubo Reiya. With the theme of “dance music,” the performances have attracted attention, including hip-hop, jazz, breakbeats, house, and techno, which have cross-over music.

“We Are” is an independent project that started with the desire to create a social space where you can drop by through music. The words that follow “We Are” differ from one person to another. Furthermore, it also means aiming for a groove where diverse people can sympathize with each other.

This time, BIGYUKI, the Japanese keyboardist who is the most popular in the American music scene, will appear on a solo set as an artist who will be appearing on the live stage alongside NS DANCEMBLE. After traveling to New York, BIGYUKI took part in tours and recordings with Lauryn Hill and Kamasi Washington. He is an artist who is active at the forefront of the world, playing A Tribe Called Quest’s last album, “We Got It From Here Thank You 4 Your Service,” and has also participated in music compositions.

The DJ is Midori Aoyama, the head of the internet radio program “TSUBAKI fm” and continues to send music from locals in Japan to the world. Additionally, they toured Europe last year and conducted a 7-hour set at the venue GIANT STEPS in London. Mr. Disco Kid, who has many well-known DJs and collectors such as Gilles Peterson, Tuxedo, and Antal, has also been confirmed to appear as a record dealer.
