“come again” remix contest held by SURF Music x m-flo

A “come again” remix contest between SURF Music and m-flo has started today.

SURF Music is a digital marketplace where music creators and other buyers around the world share unreleased songs, discovering new talent and monetizing creators, with the aim of “Bringing Power Back to Music Creators.” In the past, it also attracted attention for holding a remix contest in collaboration with The fin. and Inagaki Junichi.

This time, we are looking for a remix of m-flo’s single “come again” released in 2001. It is also a song from his second album, “Expo Expo,” and it reached number four on the Oricon singles chart, and sold approximately 390,000 copies, and has twice received Platinum certification from the Recording Association of Japan. Since then, it ranked 61st on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 in 2012, and is still loved by many people today.

The remix contest period is from today until Tuesday, April 1st. The judgement method was not to select the winning titles alone, but a new selection process was adopted in which all remixed songs selected as excellent works were distributed by the judges, and then the final winning song was decided based on performances on DSP and the members’ own screening.

The remix allows you to freely add newly created lyrics and audio (such as rap parts and melody) regardless of language. Works that have passed the first round of screening by SURF Music and BIG UP! have been officially released through BIG UP! Distribution, and a portion of the remix sales are distributed to creators through BIG UP! Furthermore, as a second round of judging, the top 10 DSP views up to Monday, June 30th will be selected, and m-flo will decide the “m-flo 25th Anniversary Award” work. The winning works will be awarded a prize, and will be released on the official m-flo YouTube channel on Monday, July 7th, the anniversary of m-flo’s major debut.
