YonYon released his new single “U” today, Wednesday, March 5th.
In January, she released her single “Old Friends” featuring SIRUP and Shin Sakiura, and also participated in Sawa Angstrom’s single “NNN feat. YonYon”, which was released last week on Wednesday, February 26th, and continues to do well at a high pace, as announced that “2025 will be a year of vigorous movement.”
This love song depicts the story of a woman who was tired of the hustle and bustle of the city and closed her heart, touching love and being led by the light. YonYon’s vocal work creates a quiet atmosphere that shines through, and by repeatedly singing “U (=you)” on the hook, he emphasizes his feelings for “people,” who are the ones who saved his heart. This song expresses themes related to mental health from both the sound and lyrics.
The sound production is done by Chaki Zulu, who has produced numerous hit songs, including Awich songs and remixed LE SSERAFIM. It’s an emotional and urban UK garage with beautiful synth sounds.
The artwork is by OH SE AE, a Korean creator who has worked on works for AESPA and NMIXX. The finish is a light-feeling look using visuals taken in Fukuoka by photographer Mayu Yamashita.
