“MAIZURU PLAYBACK FES.” was held in Maizuru, Kyoto in April last year. A total of 25,000 people visited over two days, and the second time it was held, making it one of Kyoto’s leading music festivals. This year, 2025, the event will be held for two days, April 19th and 20th. The entire lineup of artists has been announced!

■MAIZURU PLAYBACK FES. Purpose
MAIZURU PLAYBACK FES. started out in a place where there was nothing.
I want to make Maizuru a place where I can start again. Relying solely on those words, each and every one of us became more friends, and gradually conveyed our feelings and passion to the townspeople, we managed to get to visit us in the first year, and we were able to achieve great success. In the second year, we further deepened our cooperation with the local community, and held the first 2DYAS to attract 25,000 people, and not only revitalizing the port as “Maizuru, Kyoto of the Sea”, but also with the cooperation of the Self-Defense Forces, we also managed to create a camp in conjunction with the festival. I think this is the reason why this kind of initiative makes MAIZURU PLAYBACK FES. a “new form of FES in collaboration with the local community” that doesn’t resemble any festival.
However, there are still many things we want to achieve and things we need to improve. To head beyond that, with all the artists, no one has seen before.
I would like to challenge myself to MAIZURU PLAYBACK FES., which is my third year.
PLAY BACK Fes. Three Purposes
1. Make Maizuru the “place that begins.”
2. Through music, young people create the power they can move towards their dreams.
3. Encourage everyone to fall in love with Maizuru, which is “Kyoto of the Sea.”
