ACIDMAN to Release Theme Song for “Golden Kamuy” Movie

ACIDMAN is set to release their new song “Kagayakeru Mono” (Shining One), the theme song for the movie “Golden Kamuy”, as a digital pre-release at midnight on January 5, 2024.

ACIDMAN, a three-piece rock band, continues to express a grand world themed around “life” and “the universe”. In 2022, they hosted the SAITAMA ROCK FESTIVAL “SAI” 2022 at Saitama Super Arena, attracting about 40,000 attendees, showcasing their energetic activities.

Taking on the theme song for the movie “Golden Kamuy”, a live-action adaptation of the massively successful comic book with over 27 million copies in circulation and multiple manga awards, is ACIDMAN. The movie is anticipated to be one of the biggest talking points in early 2024. Their song “Kagayakeru Mono”, written specifically for the film, is an emotional rock track that vividly portrays the lives of people burning with life amidst nature, mirroring the scenic beauty of the film.

On January 17, 2024, they will release their single CD “Kagayakeru Mono”, marking their first in about three years. The limited edition DVD will feature live footage from “This is ACIDMAN 2023 at Zepp Haneda” held in October last year, swiftly packaged. This 20-song, roughly 2.5-hour setlist is a definitive ACIDMAN experience.

Furthermore, the “Kagayakeru Mono” jacket is designed in sync with the world of “Golden Kamuy”, featuring Ainu patterns. The limited edition is adorned with gold leaf, truly embodying the title “Shining One”. The regular edition uses the same design with metallic special color. Both editions feature different contents and jacket designs.

On February 6, 2024, ACIDMAN will hold their first solo concert in about three months at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL. Titled “New Single Release Live ‘Kagayakeru Mono'”, the concert will include live performances of the theme song “Kagayakeru Mono”, special screenings of “Golden Kamuy”, and novelty gifts for all attendees featuring a collaboration design with “Golden Kamuy”.

Artist Profile: ACIDMAN

Centered around Nobuo Oki (Vo & G), this three-piece rock band continues to express a grand world themed around “life” and “the universe”. They made their major debut with the album “Sō” in 2002. To date, they have released 12 original albums and successfully held six solo live performances at the Nippon Budokan. In 2017, celebrating their 20th anniversary, they hosted their first rock festival, “SAITAMA ROCK FESTIVAL ‘SAI’”, at their hometown Saitama Super Arena. In 2022, they held “SAI 2022” at the same venue after a five-year hiatus, attracting about 40,000 people over two days. In August 2023, their song “ALMA” was chosen as the theme song for the International Astronomical Union (IAU)-organized international conference on astronomy in the Asia-Pacific region, “APRIM2023”. This marked the first time a theme song was set for the conference since its inception. They have garnered attention and high acclaim in various fields, including a collaboration with Osamu Tezuka’s “Hi no Tori”, dialogues with experts in aerospace, and participation in a song by Ryuichi Sakamoto.
