Having spent her early years in London and viewing Japan from the outside world, the members resonated with the sensations and philosophy of philosopher & rapper Ensen (苑茜). In April 2023, the Tokyo-based Industrial Metal Band “ALMONDot” was launched!

On January 11th, they released their debut streaming single “I’ll Go First, Sorry.”

【PHILOSOPHY】

“ONE PIECE has been turned into a live-action drama in Hollywood, but Japan is already overflowing with characters and entertainment.

The concept of anthropomorphizing things like hot spring girls, Yuru-chara (mascots), and historical figures is extraordinary in itself. There’s nothing quite like the personification culture in Japan, similar to how people in Kansai affectionately add ‘chan’ to candies (Ame-Chan).

This Japanese mindset, blurring the lines between objects and people, deserves even more global attention, I believe.

So, I had this epiphany one day: the future of Japan should involve sharing and protecting this identity with people all around the world. (Genius!!)

To that end, we hope to convey various messages through our music.

Our debut streaming single, ‘I’ll Go First, Sorry,’ challenges the notion of condemning what we don’t understand. It’s a song about questioning whether it’s really okay to live such a life, and it embodies the determination to find true freedom on our own terms. It’s a track that seems to push everyone forward.

With its heavy sound and happy melody, this song is sure to resonate with fans of LINKIN PARK, SLIPKNOT, Bring Me The Horizon, and lovers of Heavy Metal and Dance Music!”

The music video, true to the spirit of a metal band, features intense performance scenes. Using AI and various visual effects, the video masterfully blends digital and retro, urban and natural, cute and intense, blue and red, white and black, showcasing a mix of yin and yang. The powerful visual impact presents a chaotic, contemporary Tokyo to the world.

The director is Shinpei, a genius known for his work with ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and Chatmonchy.
