“City Pop TOKYO” released their first song, “Midnight Rhythm,” on February 19th, with “Akane,” the winner of the digital talent discovery audition, as vocal. The music video for this song has been released on YouTube.
City Pop TOKYO is a wallet and login platform using blockchain technology, including Asobi Systems Co., Ltd. (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Nakagawa Yusuke; hereinafter referred to as Asobi Systems), which is a diverse range of artists and creators. The song is based on City Pop, a music genre that represents the 1980s and 90s in Japan, which was the origin of the project’s name, “City Pop TOKYO.” Many overseas users are in the project’s community, and the chorus part of the Japanese lyrics is English and uses catchy phrases that are easy for listeners from various countries to sing.
