SWEET STEADY, 3 months after their debut, had a great first solo concert at EX THEATER ROPPONGI! New song “Pajama Party!” released and MV teaser released

On Sunday, June 9th, idol group SWEET STEADY held their first solo concert, “SWEET STEADY 1st Solo Live -The Beginning Signal-” at EX THEATER ROPPONGI.

SWEET STEADY is an eight-member idol group consisting of Ayumi Okuda, Yui Otoi, Natsuka Kurita, Riyo Shiokawa, Mayumi Shiraishi, Nagisa Shoji, Mia Yanagawa, and Sakina Yamauchi. The group was formed in March this year from “KAWAII LAB.”, a project by Asobisystem to promote Japanese idol culture to the world. The group’s name represents the desire for the girls, who are like a bouquet of “cute (SWEET)”, to grow “steadily (STEADY)” one step at a time as they gain various experiences.

This first solo concert was announced at their debut live show three months ago, and many fans came to see their big day, with the venue filled with excitement even before the show started.

Encouraged by the expectations of their fans, SWEET STEADY took to the stage in new costumes decorated with flower petals. “Thank you for coming today! Let’s have fun until the very end!” Shiraishi shouted with enthusiasm as they immediately performed their signature song, “Hajimari no Aizu,” which is also the title of the live show. With a cute yet powerful performance, they kicked off their first solo concert full of energy.

Continuing the momentum, they performed two new songs prepared for the day, “Onegai Pentas” and “Wagamama.” “Onegai Pentas” features summery lyrics and comical choreography that will make you want to imitate it, making it a song that will make this summer even hotter. In complete contrast, “Wagamama” is a cool number with dialogue woven in, containing the message “I want to live with pride as my true self.” Cute and cool, these new songs that are typical of SWEET STEADY, with their ever-changing charm, resonated in the hearts of fans.

During the MC, Shiokawa asked the audience, “Will you continue to be with Suisute from now on?”, which was answered by a loud voice, heating up the venue even more. He also announced that Suisute fans will be called “Suidees”, which caused cheers from the Suidees in the venue.

Next, they performed “Michishirube” and “Nante ne!”, raising the excitement of the venue, and then performed the third new song of the day, “Pajama Party!” for the first time as a surprise. It’s an idol dance tune that you can’t get out of your head once you hear it, and the audience was so excited that it was hard to believe it was their first time. They ended the concert with “Heart Magic,” which captivated the fans in the venue and closed the concert with great excitement.

However, the audience immediately started calling for an encore, and the members returned to the stage in response. Otoi expressed her gratitude for being able to stand on this stage, and declared her determination, saying, “SWEET STEADY would like to continue to make a big bouquet together with you all, so please continue to support us,” and performed “Pajama Party!” again, which they had just performed, allowing people to film it. Fans have been sending out videos of the members’ cute dancing live performances, and they are sure to be spreading widely on social media.

For the last song, they performed “Hajimari no Aizu,” the first song of the main set. The glowing penlights filled the venue, spreading out as vividly and colorfully as a flower field, as if they were congratulating the girls who had been working hard for the past three months. “No one can imitate you, grab your dream.” Their dignified performance proved that the lyrics of “Hajimari no Aizu” were not just a pipe dream, and their first solo concert came to a close amid thunderous applause. The girls, who had given it their all, were smiling, and the fans in the venue were also smiling and applauding them.

Despite only starting their activities three months ago, SWEET STEADY held a successful solo concert at EX THEATER ROPPONGI. Now that they’ve grown a step further, it’s exciting to see what kind of flowers they will blossom into in Japan, and indeed the world.

The new song “Pajama Party!”, which was debuted at this concert, will be released digitally at midnight on Saturday, June 10th. The music video is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, June 18th.
