SUSHIDELIC, a sushi restaurant in New York, USA, will celebrate its first anniversary at the end of June. To show our appreciation, we will be holding the SUSHIDELIC 1st Anniversary Special Days for four days from June 27th (Thursday) to June 30th (Sunday).

■About “SUSHIDELIC NY”

“SUSHIDELIC NY” is a sushi restaurant that opened in June 2023 in the SOHO district of New York, where highly sensitive people gather, as a new perspective on sushi, the most popular Japanese food in America and already integrated into the lifestyle, under the creative direction of artist Masuda Sebastian, who creates works with a unique sense of color. The interior of the restaurant is a psychedelic and iconic space that makes you feel as if you have wandered into another world. You can see, touch, and eat Masuda Sebastian’s “Kawaii”, offering an “immersive kawaii dining experience” that goes beyond just dining at a restaurant.

This year, it won the Grand Prix in the Project category at the CJPF Awards 2024, organized by the Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership Platform, making it a New Generation Sushi Restaurant where you can experience the charm of Japan.

■ Various events will be held to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening

To celebrate the first anniversary of their opening, “SUSHIDELIC 1st Anniversary Special Days” will be held for four days from June 27th (Thurs) to 30th (Sun). During the event, SUSHIDELIC NY’s icon Derrick Cat and monster girls from “KAWAII MONSTER CAFE”, a Harajuku brand produced by Masuda Sebastian, will welcome customers and liven up the store with DJ music.

In addition, on June 27th (Thursday), we will be holding the “SUSHIDELIC 1st Anniversary Celebration Party,” where we will be offering special food and sweets for free (while supplies last) that are only available on that day, as well as original cocktails that are an adaptation of Japan’s classic shochu highball, inspired by the city of Tokyo.

On the final day, Sunday, June 30th, the family-friendly restaurant will be serving new menu items such as “SUSHI TOWER” and “HARAJUKU PARFAIT”, which are available every Sunday. You can also enjoy hands-on content such as making colorful monster sweets with children thanks to the monster girls from “KAWAII MONSTER CAFE” and Harajuku makeup.

■ Two brands will have pop-up stores in Harajuku

During the “SUSHIDELIC 1st Anniversary Special Days” event, there will be pop-up stores in the store for two brands produced by artist Sebastian Masuda, who is in charge of creative direction for SUSHIDELIC NY.

For a limited time, you can purchase original items from the apparel brand “6%DOKIDOKI,” which opened its shop in Harajuku in 1995 and became a pioneer of Harajuku Kawaii culture, and “KAWAII MONSTER CAFE,” which conveys a crazy worldview based on the concept of “the most colorful TOKYO experience in the world.”

SUSHIDELIC will continue to update its menus and experiences to suit local seasons and events in order to spread the originality of Japanese culture to the world.
