Nara-born singer-songwriter Kawanishi Natsuki’s new song “Butter” was released on Wednesday, August 21st.
The song follows “Ideal Girl,” a song about the gap between a girl’s real daily life and her ideal, whose demo song has been played over 25 million times on social media, and “Problem Collection,” which depicts the real issues faced by couples around the world. “Butter” is a heartbreak song that compares the end of a relationship to melting butter.
Kawanishi Natsuki will hold a solo concert at Umeda Shangri-La in Osaka on Saturday, February 15th, 2025, and at Shibuya WWW in Tokyo on Wednesday, February 26th.

This work, “Butter,” depicts the lingering aftertaste of a love that has ended. A six-slice bread, which is a little too much for one person, a large room that makes you feel lonely. Through such small everyday scenes, I expressed the memories of the past that seep into the heart and the fondness for days that will never return.
Now I feel nostalgic and sad about all the casual moments of my love life. Like butter soaking into bread, my memories of the past keep spreading inside me and I can’t digest them easily. However, I am also grateful that my past has made me who I am today.
I hope that this song will inspire those who listen to it to remember the memories that remain in their hearts and the people who have made an impression on them, and that it will give them the strength to move forward even just a little.
