It was announced on the 16th that artist and actor Akito Teshima will star in the musical “1789 -Lovers of the Bastille-” (produced by Toho), which will open at the Meijiza Theater in Tokyo from April 8th next year.

This work was created by Dove Atia and Albert Cohen, producers who have brought out popular works such as “The Sun King” and “Rock Opera Mozart” one after another, and it received great acclaim when it had its world premiere in France in 2012. and recorded a mega hit.

The Toho version premiered at the Imperial Theater in 2016, and the vivid music and sophisticated production created a buzz and sold out, and the 2018 re-performance was greeted with great enthusiasm.

This time, the performance will be held for the first time in seven years, and the venue will be moved to Meiji-za, where the story of young people seeking freedom and equality will once again rise.

The artists responsible for embellishing and directing are “Elisabeth” and “Mozart!” Shuichiro Koike is a master craftsman who works on “. Koike and Atia also teamed up for the musical picaresque “LUPIN ~The Secret of Countess Cagliostro~”, which was performed at the Imperial Theater in 2023 as an original musical, and all seats were sold out.

Akito Teshima plays the lead role in the double cast of this much-talked-about work. Teshima debuted as a member of SOLIDEMO after winning the Grand Prix in the artist category of “avex audition MAX 2013″. Since 2022, he has started working as a solo artist in earnest, and is active in various stages, including the musical “Magi” series and the role of Tezuka Kunimitsu in the musical “New Prince of Tennis.”

Along with Teshima, he will star in the double cast in this work, having shown his presence as Yuri Briar in “SPY x FAMILY”, playing Romeo in the musical “Romeo & Juliet”, and starring in “Attack on Novel” in October of this year. Raimu Okamiya was successful overseas as well, playing the lead role of Eren Jaeger in the New York performance of “Attack on Titan -The Musical-”.

In addition, the role of Olympe, who serves the court, will be played by a former actress who left the Takarazuka Revue in May of this year after starring in Arcencier, and whose excellent performance as the heroine Catherine in Newsies in October of this year is still fresh in her memory.・Madoka Hoshikaze, the top girl of the Hanagumi , Iroha Okuda, who passed the Nogizaka46 5th generation audition in 2022, and won the role of Juliet in the 2024 musical “Romeo & Juliet” in her first stage audition, will be cast in both roles.

The two, who were never supposed to meet, are strongly attracted to each other, but their opposing social status becomes a barrier.
