MATSURI, a new group produced by Yasushi Akimoto born with the concept of “Showa songs and pops in the modern era”, held a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Umeda in Osaka on Sunday, November 17, 2024. After the lighting ceremony, a special live performance was held.

Six members of various ages and past backgrounds (singer, nurse, cleaning worker, etc.) started their activities as MATSURI under the direction of Yasushi Akimoto, and currently appear regularly on Fuji TV’s TV program “Poka Poka”. Currently appearing on. Her first original song, “Kakkotsuke Terannee”, released in February of this year, was selected as the ending song for the February/March TV show “Mezamashi 8.”

It has finally been announced that they will make their major debut on January 22nd next year, and this day, which will be their first appearance in Osaka, will be the first lighting ceremony for MATSURI. After a short Christmas talk, there was a countdown with the calls of over 300 people who filled the venue space, and as the members chanted “Merry Christmas!”, a 6m tall Christmas tree was strangely transformed into MATSURI’s costume. The lights lit up in synchronized blue color, painting the surrounding sky in a dazzling glow.

At the special live performance held after the lighting ceremony, they enthusiastically sang 5 songs, including 4 cover songs such as “Koibito ga Santa Claus”, which is perfect for today’s day, and finally the first original song released in February. , performed “Kakko Shitte Ranne”, adding color to the lighting ceremony and greatly entertaining the audience.

After the live performance, members of MATSURI interacted with fans for over an hour at the CD reservation benefit event. I would like to keep an eye on their major debut in January next year, and their activities as they continue to sprint forward.
