“Avex Class” is a career education program run by Avex Inc. as part of its sustainability activities. Artists, talents, creators, and athletes visit educational institutions across the country to convey to children the importance of “the ability to believe in talent and dreams” through their own experiences.

This class was held as part of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake recovery support activities that have been underway since September. “Stories of people who made their dreams come true through challenge and effort will be used by children who experienced the earthquake.” “We want this event to light up your heart and give you an opportunity to take a step toward the future,” the school said, and the idea was to convey a message about the importance of having dreams.

Speaking about his childhood, Suzuki, who served as his first teacher, said, “I just loved singing and wanted to be famous. However, I had never learned to sing and I thought it would never happen, so my parents told me I couldn’t even confide in you,” he said, revealing his struggles before auditioning.

After her debut, Suzuki quickly became a popular artist, selling 1.8 million copies of her CD album, participating in the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, and winning the Japan Record Grand Prize. Regarding the hectic days of those days, he said, “I was happy that my dream of appearing on a glamorous stage had come true. However, I also wanted to enjoy high school life with my friends, so I was able to balance work and school, which was very fulfilling.” I looked back. Regarding the fact that he is currently expanding his activities beyond being a singer, he says, “I focused on what I was interested in and liked, such as DJing and spicy cooking, and carved out a path for myself, which led to work. “By looking at yourself objectively, you can make new discoveries and develop a desire to take on new challenges,” he said, passionately conveying to the children the joy and reward of taking on new challenges.

In the second half, we communicated with the children about work and future dreams based on three topics. In response to the first question, “What is work?”, “When I was little, I thought that work was something I had to do in order to make a living, but there are people like me who can do what they like as a job.” There are a lot of people, and there are a lot of possibilities,” he said of the job, referring to his own experience. In addition, regarding the themes of “How do you find your dreams?” and “Can you turn what you love into a job?” ” he advised.

During the Q&A session at the end, when asked, “What did you do to make your dreams come true?” he answered, “I talked about my dreams to people close to me who I can talk to about anything. It’s very reassuring to have people nearby who support me.” He said, “They push me,” and talked about the importance of having family and friends who support you.

At the end, she said, “It was a very valuable time to be able to talk in this way with children who are similar in age to my own children.Today’s class gave me the opportunity to actively talk about what I like and what I am interested in.” “I want them to be able to appeal to the world,” he said, and the time provided an opportunity for them to think about work and their dreams while actively communicating with the children.
