Four-piece rock band I Don’t Like Mondays. (Idora) announces their first Zepp tour.
At the same time, the live schedule for early 2025 has been released, and the fan voting tour “3rd SELECTION TOUR” and the band event with Omoinotake “JOINT GIG 2025” have also been announced.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of their major debut, and they released their EP “FOCUS” in October, and are currently on their first Asian tour.
On December 1st (Sunday), the final domestic performance was held at Zepp DiverCity.
Coupled with the fact that it was his last one-man show in Japan before the end of the year, the excitement among the more than 2,000 people who filled the venue was at its peak.
The two-hour show, which included the opening song “Shadow” for Kantere Fuji TV’s monthly drama “Monster,” heated up winter Tokyo.
In the middle, Hiromitsu Kitayama made a surprise appearance and collaborated on the song “Just Like That”, which I Don’t Like Mondays. had provided in September.
Although the two have been friends with vocalist YU for over 10 years and collaborated on a song five years ago, this will be their first time co-starring on stage.
When YU asked the fans, “Aren’t there some people who got to know us when we first released our music?”, cheers that sounded like screams erupted from everywhere, and Kitayama worried, “Are you okay?” There is also a side that makes you laugh.
They are scheduled to perform in Taipei at the end of the year, and to start overseas performances in six cities in mainland China from January of the year, and the schedule for the end of next year has already been announced, much to the delight of Japanese fans.
In addition, overseas performances in Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen have continued to sell out even after ticket sales began, and there are only a few remaining in Beijing and Wuhan, indicating the level of attention from overseas.
The “SELECTION TOUR”, in which the set list is determined by votes from fan club members, will be held for the third time starting in 2023. In the first edition, “LOVE YOURSELF” from their first album, and in the second edition, “Sora no Ao ni Miserete”, released in 2022, won first place in the vote, and the set list was well received even by the members themselves, which was unpredictable. I am making money.
The third edition, the “3rd SELECTION TOUR”, will be held on the largest scale, with stops in Nagoya, Okayama, Osaka, Sapporo, Asahikawa, Kumamoto, and Fukuoka.
And in Tokyo, “JOINT GIG”, a competition event that started in 2017, will be held for the first time in three years. Last time, we had eill and ReN, but this time our opponent will be Omoinotake, whose smash hit “Ichibillion Light Years” is still fresh in our minds, and who will also be participating in the Kohaku Uta Gassen.
Both performers have appeared at the same festivals and circuit events, but this will be their first time performing together. The event will be held at Ebisu LIQUIDLOOM and will only be held for one night, so tickets will be competitive.
The first Zepp tour will begin in October. The event is scheduled to be held in five major cities, so keep an eye on them as they continue to gain momentum as they pass their 10th anniversary.
Fan club-only early advance tickets are now available for both performances.
