The “Private Detective Hama Mike” movie series is a hard-boiled detective series based on the original work by film director Kaizo Hayashi and starring Masatoshi Nagase. The main visual for the stage play “Private Detective Hama Mike – Stairs of a Distant Era”, which is the second in the series, has been released.Ryuji Sato, who plays the lead role of Hama Mike, holds a gun and stares ahead, and the people around him are full of individuality. In addition to Ryuji Sato, who plays the lead role of Mike Hama, Masaki Yabe (DISH//) plays the role of his partner Hoshino, and Moeka Koizumi plays the role of his younger sister Akane Hama.This work has an original story, and in the first part, Mike’s friends Kanade Nanaki, who played the role of One Bairan, has been appearing since the first movie. In addition, an attractive cast with various backgrounds has been confirmed to appear, including Kohei Nagata, Takuma Izawa, Mashiro Yagi, Takeshi Nadagi, Ryuichi Oura, and Kaname Ouki.

The screenplay and direction are by Daisuke Nishida, and the songs in the play are by Motoyoshi Tai. This work will be performed as a reading drama in 2021, and the first part will be made into a stage play in 2022. This will be Ryuji Sato’s first appearance as Mike Hama, the lead actor, in his 30s.

Asa Akima/One Bairan role: Kanade Nanaki

I played the role of Wang Bairan in the previous work, and I never imagined that I would be able to see her again. This work will focus on the story of Mike Hama’s family, so I will be in the original position, but I will cherish this story in the beautiful space created by Mr. Nishida, and above all, let it live again. If I could, I would like to play the role while keeping in my heart the heartwarming and loving moments I spent with Tokuken. I’m also excited as I don’t know how Hyakuran will be able to live in this place again! We look forward to seeing you at the theater.

Kurodogkai/Yamaguchi role: Takuma Izawa

This is my first hard-boiled work, and it’s been a while since I played a member of the crew. This is the first time in three years that I have appeared in Nishida’s work, and the spectacular action scenes and beautiful production, including the costumes, left a very strong impression on me, so I am excited to see what kind of performance this time will bring. Private Detective Mike Hama is a series I loved so much that I watched the entire drama series and movie trilogy. I was asked to do the stage version, and I’m still excited. I’ve worked with Ryuji Sato, who plays the lead role, in a movie before, so I’m really excited to be working with him again after such a long time.
