VK Blanka held “VK Blanka presents RAINBOW ROAD -號-” on December 27th (Friday) at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo.
This performance is the fourth in the special event “RAINBOW ROAD”, which was launched in 2022 as a special place where fans can gather together once a year. The first part, “-Ki-“, followed the trajectory up to that point, the second part, “-Sho-“, which was held in 2023, which flew through the world, and the third part, which was held in a match-up format -Den-. I hoped that the title of the 4th installment, which follows “, would be met with loud cheers.”-號-“(pronunciation: gou).The setlist is mainly composed of popular live songs and songs that have been performed live for the first time in a while, and an overwhelming stage that reflects Bikkeblanka’s attitude toward the next phase unfolds. It was done.
The SE that announces the start of the performance is “Kiron”. The moment the song starts playing, clapping sounds, and the entire audience rises to their feet as the track climaxes. As a pleasant sense of elation spreads, the seven band members (Hiroaki Yokoyama/Key&Cho, Makoto Idegami/Gt&Cho, Masahiro Wakayama/Dr&Cho, Kazuma Okuda/Ba&Cho, Kayo Sato/Cho, Machi Okabe/1st Violin, Megumi Amano/2nd) Violin) appears. The live performance began with a national ceremony in which the “Rainbow Road” flag rose from below the stage. The first song is “Revolution”. With a grand fanfare, Bikkeblanka appeared on stage, and a tremendous cheer erupted. The opening phrase, “Wake up when you hear the siren, wait for the morning sun,” is sung loudly while staring at the flag. He also played the electric guitar while creating a dramatic song.
He went up to the special stage for Bikke in the center of the stage (keyboards and synths were placed on both sides), played the intro himself, and moved on to the second song, “Winter Beat.” The supple and dignified beat, romantic melody line, clear falsetto voice, and the audience’s loud chorus resonated, increasing the audience’s sense of elation.
The following “Slave of Love” is a number with an impressive dramatic structure. After releasing the line “slave of love/I want to be set free/I’ll never do something like that”, it leads into a melodious guitar solo and then a classical violin solo. During the break at the end of the song, he took off his earphones and demanded cheers. A scene unique to Bikke Blanca continues, where high-quality pop music and fun entertainment coexist.
After transforming the entire venue into a dance floor with “Snake,” a dance tune with a dark sound image and a rolling melody, “Yomigaeri” followed. The venue was filled with rich emotion as the song began with a piano and vocals, followed by a powerful melody and a prayer-like phrase, “Resurrect, a new beginning.”

“December 27th, LINE CUBE SHIBUYA, “RAINBOW ROAD” I feel so excited!” he said, receiving warm applause and cheers from the audience. Furthermore, he said, “I’m thinking of incorporating rare and nostalgic songs in ‘RAINBOW ROAD,” which led to the song “Sorrow * Sorrow.” The current version of Bikkeblanka is a song that was included in their 1st mini-album “Tuberculin” (2014) from their indie era. It can be said that the self-sessions that transcended time were the real pleasure of this RAIBOW ROAD. There’s also “Shirokuma,” which has a pleasant vocal that makes use of a beautiful falsetto, and “Bad Boy Love,” which is also an early masterpiece from “Tuberculin” (the ending violin solo is beautiful!). Bikkeblanka’s pop world, which transcends genres and trends, unfolds as he travels through various periods.
“‘Bad Boy Love’ is on the first indie mini-album, and I personally like it. I want people who hear it for the first time to understand the lyrics! A bad boy plays the violin. I fell in love with a girl who was playing…” Bikkeblanka begins to explain. The happy look on his face was also impressive as he said, “This song that I released seven years ago has now been completed!”
From here on, it’s the “cool zone,” as Bikke calls it. First of all, “You chick over”. It’s a medium tune with a tight beat, flowing piano, and emotional melody. Another appeal of this song is the earnest feeling of “Why don’t people accept me?” that is expressed through lyrics written entirely in English. After passing through “Lights Out”, which has a pleasant glittering synth and danceable sound, we move on to “Mirage”. The majestic sound, the effective use of the refrain, and the lyrics, “I want to see your seriousness/your courage,” enhancing each other, were the first highlights of that day’s live performance. Of course, the main character was Vickeblanka’s vocals. The sight of him looking up at the sky and taking a deep breath while receiving applause after he finished singing left a strong impression on me.
At this point, I said, “Did you know there will be no encore this time?” Naturally, there was a voice from the audience, “Huh?”. “Okay, I’ll stop talking to give you time to play the song (lol)” and immediately move on to the next sequence. The popular song “Mashiro” began with the line “No one will find me/The city lights won’t light up” played on the keyboard. This winter ballad, decorated with chic strings, is perfect for this season. “Changes”, which started with acoustic guitar and singing, is also a masterpiece. In particular, I was deeply moved by the vocalization in “I hope I can become a better person someday.” I think it was a great benefit that I was able to fully experience her charm as a singer throughout the live performance.
“I went to so many different places this year, and I’m going to do my best next year as well. Being able to write the song “Matamane,” which is included in my latest album (“Knightclub”), was a big moment for me. I made this while imagining you coming home from a live show, and I always thought, “What should I make next?” That’s what I’m best at, after a live show. “I wonder how everyone is doing? ” It was in 2024 that I realized that it was actually a big change. Since I wasn’t in Japan a lot of the time, I think it meant that I started to feel more like someone who was closer to me. Even after the holidays, I will continue to do my best. After delivering heartfelt words to the audience, the live performance quickly reached its climax. They released the finest upper tunes “Urara” and “Ca Va?” in succession, enveloping the entire venue in a gorgeous sense of euphoria. The last part of the main story is “Old Rivals (A Self-Cover of “Rivals!”),” a self-cover of “Rivals!” provided to “Hypnosis Mic.” At the end, when the gong was hit loudly, the audience responded with the loudest applause and cheers of the day.
And then it was time for an unscheduled encore. Bikkeblanka returned to the stage alone and performed “Iraikyu” and “Girl” while playing the keyboard. Furthermore, the band members were invited and said, “Thank you so much for giving me so much happiness every time with ‘RAINBOW ROAD.” I think I’ll do what I have to do.” After reaffirming his determination, he sang “High Love.” A huge chorus of “So I can marry you/If I were by your side/I feel like I could reach you tomorrow” was born, creating a beautiful sense of unity through music.
The live ended with the words, “See you again! I was a happy person!” “RAINBOW ROAD” has become an irreplaceable place for Bikkeblanka and the audience with each episode. It was a great stage that made me strongly believe that.
