Singer-songwriter and drummer born in 1991. Started solo activities in 2015 under the name Takashi Watanabe and in 2018 under the name meiyo. In 2021, he created a buzz with the song “No matter what I do, it doesn’t work” posted on TikTok and made his major debut from Universal Music. In 2022, he produced asmi’s “PAKU,” which recorded 3 billion views on TikTok, and “Beat DE Tohi,” a unit by Ryuichi Hamaie and Erika Ikuta. While working on commercial songs for Sony Life, Netflix, Cup Star, Toyota Motor Corporation, etc., as well as theme songs for dramas and anime, he released his first major album “POP SOS” in December 2023. Formed in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2013.
A three-person band characterized by a musicality that mixes the members’ wide range of roots and harmonies created by twin male and female vocals.
In April 2015, they released their first mini-album “Awesome City Tracks,” which became a hot topic and reached number one on the iTunes rock chart. While constantly touring around the country, they also appear at large festivals both domestically and internationally. The 2021 Fuji Rock Festival Green Stage and the 2022 Summer Sonic stage are also being talked about.
In 2021, she appeared in the movie “Bouquet-like Love” and released the inspirational song “Madobo” which has been viewed over 1.1 billion times.
