The “lecca LIVE TOUR 2024 “LIBERTY ERA” is touring Zepp in five cities, starting with the Zepp Nagoya performance in Aichi on May 10th, with the release of their first album “LIBERTY ERA” in about seven years. The third performance, which was the turning point, was held on May 18th at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO) in Tokyo. We will report on this performance, which also featured special guest Yusuke.
Singing voices could be heard from the other side of the black curtain that covered the stage. When the curtains opened to the left and right, the backlit lighting revealed Lecca singing intently in the center of the stage. After the first song, “Makuake,” where the band members’ performances gradually merged, the second song, “GAME,” began, and the singing voices and the band’s performance resonated with great force. The title song of the album released in 2015, “Maisei”, was also performed at an exquisite point, while the songs from the latest album “LIBERTY ERA” were lively and dynamic. “Copernicus” has the words, “Don’t hesitate to let her go!” vividly looms large. “SIGN”, which was joined by the audience’s loud chorus towards the end of the song…I couldn’t help but be deeply moved even at the beginning.
“If you work hard and live your life to the fullest, and then you make your own choices and walk down the path, aren’t there times when you end up going in a different direction than you imagined? You can work a little harder until you’re 35. When you’re 40. For those above, don’t try too hard because you can’t do it anymore (lol). For those over 45, take it easy. It’s important to be kind to yourself, and the most important thing is to accept yourself. This is the LIBERTY ERA tour, so I want everyone to be free. The older you get, the more tied you are, but try to remember when you’re the most smiling. lecca once again delivered the message contained in “ERA” as an MC. After savoring those words, I listened to the songs “Tou” and “Otsukare-san (short ver.),” which gave me a very warm feeling.
“Delivery to You,” a live arrangement of a song from the album “Power Butterfly” released in 2010, vividly linked with the message of “LIBERTY ERA,” and then during a short break, the song “99 people out of 100” was played. “Even if others deny it, if one person affirms it, people can do their best,” said Lecca, based on her own experience. The director who was a good understanding of her passed away about two years ago, and “LIBERTY ERA” was completed after a period when she did not know where to aim. “I’ve always loved music, and when I was making songs, I always wanted to “light a light in people’s hearts” with these strange songs. That was my original intention. Over the past two years, So, I decided to remember the first scenery I saw, the scenery I dreamed of, and my initial feelings.Let’s go back together. To my initial feelings.”The words “Starting Line” can also be used as a blessing. The singing voice sounded so brave that it sounded as if he had forgotten. Next was “start up,” which had a lively wild sound. Then, “ohayo-gozaimasu” began, and a team of dancers appeared on stage, much to the delight of the audience. ERIKA, motoco, NANA, MAI, Nattsun, ARISA, and SANAE, who are familiar from this song’s MV, dance performances that highlight the individuality of each of the seven members become one with the song, and the many towels held up in the audience dance with vigor. rotate. Lecca was overjoyed that they were finally able to co-star, and her excitement oozed out in her words, “Wow! What are these people!”
Immediately after lecca said, “While we’re at it, let’s bring in another amazing person!”, Yusuke appeared amidst cheers. The song he sang with him was “Never Ever.” This song, released under the title “Never Ever 遊turing lecca,” was performed for the first time at a lecca live show. The two of them exchanged voices and sometimes sang in unison, making the audience feel at ease. Then, the MC time began with an exchange of “You’re so busy, aren’t you? Thank you for accepting” (lecca) “Not at all. If you call me, I’ll come right away” (Yusuke). They talked about the historical drama “Hikaru Kimi e” in which Yusuke appears, and his regular program “Hiruobi.” May 18th is “Kotoba no Hi” (Day of the Word). The topic continued to expand, with the characters before and after “Kamiji Yusuke” becoming “freedom”… and so on. When lecca told Yusuke, “People on TV talk too fast and I can’t keep up,” Yusuke replied, “You’re right! Just now, while listening to the MC on the monitor, I was thinking, ‘That guy talks a lot!'” The audience burst into laughter. It was a co-starring performance that was very entertaining with their fast-paced talk.
“For You,” which began with the words, “I’m blessed with people. I’m so grateful to everyone,” enveloped the audience in a very gentle way as they swayed their bodies as they listened. Next was “My Measure,” which received cheers as soon as the intro began, and the performance, which included two dancers, got the audience excited. And the avalanche of “power” triggered by the “butterfly effect” was intensely satisfying. The audience all got up from their chairs and danced freely to the music. Lecca looked genuinely happy as she looked at the bright energy of the audience. And the last song of the main story was “It’s a Wonderful Life”. This song, which sings about the fact that no matter what anyone says, that your life is yours and that you should live it freely and enjoy it, really touched my heart when I heard it live. As the outro plays, he sings, “Have courage, hold your heart high, and be confident. Everything up until now may just be the beginning. The real curtain may be opening and things are about to begin, so please look forward to it.” See you soon!” Lecca left the stage. It was an impressive scene that reaffirmed that her presence itself, as she sang as if her whole body was shining, carried a big message.
The band members returned to the stage in response to the applause and chorus of the audience demanding an encore, and when the performance began, Lecca reappeared while singing “Miracle.” The audience waved his raised arms in unison, creating a very peaceful atmosphere. After she finished singing, she expressed her sincere gratitude to all the people she had met because she was a musician. The band members DJ DAISHIZEN (DJ), YOTA (G), KUUBO (B), Tsunoken (Dr), Mi3 (Key), and dancers MAI and SANAE were introduced again, and it was clear that they were able to create a stage together. The joy was felt directly. And I said, “What do you want to do? Please steer me in that direction.” How many times has this music taught me that? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had my friends pull me in. Everyone. Please take care of your friends, family, and loved ones, because time is not forever.” “Kokuzora” begins. It started with piano accompaniment and singing, and when other instruments joined in, the enthusiasm of the ensemble suddenly increased. The breeze created by the towels rotated by the audience was soothing. The venue was filled with such an open atmosphere that you almost forgot it was an indoor live performance.
After all the songs were played, Lecca, band members, dancers, and special guest Yusuke lined up on stage. They were greeted with huge applause and cheers as they bowed and raised their joined hands. This is how the Tokyo performance came to an end. I was able to leave the venue with a refreshing aftertaste. Her singing voice will warm the hearts of the audience at the Zepp Fukuoka performance in Fukuoka on June 1st and the Zepp Sapporo performance in Sapporo on June 8th.
