The seven-member dance and vocal group GENIC’s member Nishizawa Teru is currently enjoying rapid success with the release of their third album, “N_G.” The new project “JO3” features the first single “You And I,” which is now available digitally from today, June 7th.
GENIC is a group of seven men and women selected from the agenic PROJECT, a project to develop a new dance and vocal group that inherits Avex’s DNA.
In the spring of 2024, they released their third album “N_G”, and have been on a roll, holding the hugely successful “GENIC LIVE TOUR 2024 N_G” at five venues across the country, including Zeep and Toyosu PIT.
They are currently the most dynamic group, having booked their biggest nationwide tour yet this fall.
Nishizawa is known within GENIC for his refined dance skills and powerful singing voice, but he is also highly trusted by many for his diverse creativity and multi-talented talents, not only performing but also providing songs for a variety of genres.
In 2022, Nishizawa’s original song “Show Me the You That No One Knows,” which he uploaded to TikTok, became a trending hashtag, and many videos using the song were uploaded by celebrities and influencers, mainly on TikTok, with the total number of views for the hashtag exceeding 510 million, sparking a “Who’s That You” craze.
Nishizawa opened an Instagram account under the name “JO3” in February 2024, and today released his first single “You And I” digitally to the world.
The song has an amazing story behind it, as JO3 came across Darla’s voice by chance on Instagram, where she was being heavily promoted on BBC Radio in the UK, and fell in love with it. They then flew to London, where she lives, with their MacBooks in hand, and produced and completed the song in a studio there.
The song, which combines a heavy sound with Darla’s clear yet emotional voice, has already received a flood of responses online.
The album has received praise such as, “It’s the kind of musical play that only Teru-kun can do,” and “You can really feel his attention to melody; it’s like you’re drawn into another world.”
We can’t wait to see how future developments unfold with the unique world that Nishizawa creates as part of “JO3.”
