Actor Juri Uesaka has been confirmed to appear in the Friday 9pm drama “Billion x School” (Fuji TV), which will start in July and star Yamada Ryosuke.

This is a school comedy that follows the protagonist, a billionaire and head of one of Japan’s largest conglomerates, as he conceals his identity as a school teacher and faces various problems while growing alongside his students.

While Uesaka is an exclusive model for the magazine “Seventeen,” she is also active as an actress, appearing in the seventh episode of “Nurse Aid Next Door” (January 2024 season/Nippon TV).
This will be her first appearance in a Fuji TV drama since the eighth episode of “Ichiban Suki na Hana” (October 2023 season/Fuji TV), and this will be her first regular role in a serial drama.

Yamada Ryosuke, who takes the lead role in this film, plays Kagami Rei, a handsome but somewhat eccentric teacher who is assigned to Class 3-0, commonly known as Class Zero, at private Eto Academy, where students with “zero motivation, zero talent, and zero future prospects” are gathered.

This time, Uesaka will be playing Umeno Himeka, a quiet girl who has difficulty expressing her own opinions.
Umeno was being bullied in another class, so he chose to drop down to Class Zero to escape the situation, but he became a target of bullying even in Class Zero where he took refuge.

When asked how she felt when she was chosen to appear in this series, Uesaka said, “I had been determined to pass since the audition, so I was really happy when I heard that I had been selected. Both a serial drama and a school drama are my first time acting, and they were both my goals, so I’m really looking forward to it, but I’m also a lot of nervous about it.
