The song is a Reiwa-style city pop duet song in the style of THREE1989, reminiscent of “Tastyanahito” (Important Person), which was co-written with the Queen of City Pop, Toki Asako. The lyric video is a work that matches the song, combining impressive lyrics with driving footage.

“Sweet Sweet feat. Toki Asako” was created when THREE1989 was never able to forget the impact they had when they heard Toki Asako’s 2017 song “PINK,” which led to an offer to her. Vocalist Shohei wrote a letter expressing his feelings to Toki Asako, which led to this collaboration. Shohei and Toki Asako discussed the concept and lyrics many times and created a song that evokes the image of a drive. The members of THREE1989 themselves composed and arranged the song, with Toki herself also involved in the production of some of the melodies. The new nostalgic backing track features the two singers’ harmonies, creating a THREE1989-style city pop song.
