[The Sato Brothers]Gymnastics class report! “My blood got pumping” after their first lesson. “Maybe we’ll come to your town to teach next time!”

The three Sato brothers, identical triplets and synchronized performers who are renowned for their good looks, held a gymnastics class at the acrobatic studio “acroba” in Saitama City on June 5th.

On this day, the three brothers took part in an acrobatic practice session with teaching assistants for the preschool, elementary school, and backflip classes.

This is the first time the Sato brothers have taught children.
Before the event started, the eldest son, Ayato, exuded a sense of nervousness as he said, “I’m looking forward to it, but I’m also a bit worried about whether I’ll be able to teach the children properly. But the fun atmosphere coming from the classroom is really exciting.”
The scene at the gymnastics class seemed to remind her of when she first started competing, and she said, full of energy, “I’ve had both hard times and fun times in my career as a rhythmic gymnast, so seeing this scene makes me feel motivated. It makes my blood boil.”

We started with the preschool class. When the three Sato brothers appeared, the class was full of energy and greeted them loudly.
First, they stretch to loosen up their bodies, and the students seem amazed at how flexible the Sato brothers are.
Once the students had loosened up, they split up to practice handstands, mat exercises, etc. When Hayato demonstrated how to do a handstand, the students exclaimed, “So cool!” and “So pretty!”
While supporting the students who were taking on the challenge, they encouraged them with words like “Do your best!”, and there were also some heartwarming scenes of them sitting in a mountain position and playing around with the students who were waiting their turn, making it a time filled with smiles.

Next, the elementary school class took part in a ball carrying race.
The anchors for the red team are Ayato and Hayato, and the anchor for the blue team is Yoshito.
The race was close, and when it came time for the final anchor, the students erupted in enthusiastic cheers, and the pair of Ayato and Hayato made a furious comeback, with both teams finishing at almost the same time.
As a result of the judging, the blue team, with Yoshito as anchor, won by a narrow margin, leaving Ayato and Hayato from the red team visibly disappointed.
Afterwards, they split up into groups to practice on the horizontal bar, trampoline, and other exercises, and it was impressive to see them smiling and looking happy throughout, actively communicating with the students.

In the backflip class, he looks straight at the students who are still learning and seem anxious, and gives them gentle, careful advice, making him look like a teacher.
When the students ask him for examples, he performs backflips, backsprings, and twisting tricks with sparkling looks in his eyes, and the students exclaim, “So cool!” and “Amazing!”, becoming like an older brother that the students look up to.

And finally, the main event of the day was the acrobatic practice session.

The participants seemed fully motivated, stretching thoroughly before the practice session even began.
After finishing their warm-up exercises, the three Sato brothers appeared on stage to loud applause.

First, Ayato, Hayato, and Yoshito greeted the children in order, but it seemed that the children could not distinguish the faces and names of the three Sato brothers, who look very similar. So they decided to play a simple game. Once they had memorized the names and faces and were able to get closer to each other, Ayato greeted the children, saying, “I hope we can communicate a lot with you all and practice together, so let’s do our best,” and the practice session began.

Participants will practice hard while facing themselves according to their own level.
The three brothers went around to each mat and gave careful advice to each person, using gestures and body language to address their concerns, responding with serious looks to the participants’ desire to improve.
When participants did well, they were greeted with words like “Nice” and “Well done” and smiled as they gave each other high-fives, which made the children smile and look happy. From the sight of the three of them rejoicing together in the children’s growth, it seemed like they had a fulfilling time while also feeling the joy of teaching.

Time passed quickly, and when it was time for their special performance, the three Sato brothers changed from the kind teacher faces they had during practice to the serious faces of performers. The audience was mesmerized by the powerful acrobatics they performed one after the other, including backflips and rope performances set to music. When the performance ended, the venue erupted in cheers and loud applause.

Ayato gave the participants advice on how to approach the sport, saying, “It’s important to enjoy it, not just practice because you’re forced to,” in which Yoshito praised them, saying, “You’re all ambitious, so you’re quick learners.” He continued, “I hope you will continue to work hard and do your best to become great gymnasts,” and the practice session ended with a shining, fulfilled look on their faces.

After teaching children gymnastics for the first time, she was asked to reflect on the day.
Ayato was overflowing with a sense of fulfillment, saying, “The children asked me for advice about the sport I’ve loved for 16 years, and when I saw them happy to be able to perform the techniques that I’d taught them, it made me happy too.”

Hayato seemed to find it difficult to teach, saying, “I felt that the teaching methods were completely different in each class, and at first the children wouldn’t look me in the eye when I spoke, so I had a harder time conveying what I wanted to teach them than I had imagined.” However, he also seemed to have grasped something from his own position as a teacher through trial and error, saying, “I realized that the important thing in teaching is to communicate with the children and have fun praising them when they succeed in even small things.”

Yoshito said, “I have been a competitor for 16 years, but I have little experience as a coach, so I learned a lot from the Acroba staff’s careful instruction and preparation,” and added, “I learned that when teachers and students understand each other’s feelings and have a strong desire to improve, it leads to the growth and results of the children, and I would like to put this to good use in the future.”

The Sato brothers say that their biggest goal in rhythmic gymnastics, which they have been practicing for 16 years, is to make it an Olympic sport.
To achieve this, activities to spread awareness are essential. Taking this opportunity as a starting point, Ayato said, “My immediate goal is to spread the joy of rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatics,” while Hayato and Yoshito emphasized, “Using what I learned this time, I want to increase the opportunities for young children and those who are not yet familiar with the sports to actually experience and enjoy rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatics.”

Finally, when asked about the appeal of rhythmic gymnastics, Yoshito said, “Pay attention to the strength of the acrobatics and the flexibility of the performance,” talking about the key points to keep in mind when watching the sport. Hayato said, “It’s a wonderful sport that uses all your heart and soul to move people’s hearts,” talking about a sport where you can communicate something with your whole body, not just with words. Ayato emphasized, “It’s simply the best and most powerful sport,” and said with a smile, “Maybe we’ll come to your town to teach you next time, to share this fun with you.” The three Sato brothers, who have stronger feelings for the sport than anyone else, will continue to work toward the popularization of rhythmic gymnastics and their big goal as “performers” and “teachers” after this gymnastics class.
