[waterweed]Nationwide tour starts today! The music video for “Leave me alone” from the new album “Departures” has also been released.

Waterweed has been leading the scene since before the word “loud” was even used and the genres “post-hardcore” and “screamo” were even recognized. The style they arrived at through their exploration was the deepening of melodic hardcore, which is their “roots”. In the UK/EU, they signed with the prestigious British label “Lockjaw Records”, and while their reputation in Japan is growing through reverse imports, the two singles included in this album are starting to attract more attention, such as being used in anime.

Ahead of the tour starting in Osaka today, the music video for “Leave me alone” from the latest album “Departures” was released at midnight sharp.

Now that you’re gone, in the vast, empty void that feels so large, the song of this small world resonates, trying to fill the drifting loneliness.
The plain, private footage only deepens the sense of helpless blueness.

In addition to the already announced tour in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, details of the nationwide tour have also been revealed.

Twenty-four performances have been announced, spanning from Hokkaido in the north to Fukuoka in the south, with more to be added in the future.

A limited edition physical CD of “Departures” will also be sold at the venue.

In an ever-changing world, the sound of a band that has found something unchanging is always the deepest and newest.

profile:
They are a leading underground band that led the scene before the term “loud” even existed and the genres “post-hardcore” and “screamo” were even recognized. First, the Asian hardcore scene responded to them, and they toured Korea, Taiwan, and Indonesia. This led to a contract with the British hardcore label “Lockjaw Records” and the release of a UK version. They then successfully completed a European tour across five countries (UK, France, Holland, Czechoslovakia, and Germany), including the “Manchester Punk Festival (UK)” and “Burning Ramp Festival (Germany)”.
