[Da-iCE]What does Taiki Kudo think of hip hop culture?

On Saturday, June 15th from 22:00, TBS Radio’s “TALK ABOUT” (every Saturday from 22:00 to 23:30), hosted by Da-iCE’s Kudo Taiki, aired.

This week Kudo spoke about a topic that had caught his attention: the news about a ban on hip hop in the dance club at Kojimachi Junior High School.

In terms of dance clubs, he said that he could understand if it was a hip hop dance club, but he also said that there are many different genres of dance, and dance clubs are places where kids who want to do a variety of dances gather, so he fully understands that the school has to strike a balance with a large number of students.

I just wanted to convey that if you say you can’t do hip hop because the dance club doesn’t do it, it’s because you have a different understanding of hip hop in the first place. With the development of techniques, hip hop dance has become established as a sport these days, so many people may say that they can’t do it unless they are forced to take lessons, but
He said that if you trace it back to its origins, hip hop is basically a group of volunteers coming together and having fun on their own.

With this feeling in mind, Kudo’s song selection corner tonight aired RHYMESTER’s “we love hiphop.”

Da-iCE’s latest song “I wonder,” in which Kudo also participated in writing the lyrics, is currently being distributed and has been well received. It has been played over 400 million times on TikTok. It is also used as the theme song for the drama “Kururi ~Who Fell in Love with Me?~” starring Ai Ikumi (every Tuesday from 10pm on TBS).
