[Munakata Junji]First regular role in a drama series to be in the NTV drama “Please be more unfortunate than me”! “I’m truly honored!”

It has been revealed that actor Munakata Shunji will be appearing in the NTV drama series “Please Be More Unfortunate Than Me” (starting July 9th, Tuesdays at 12:24am), co-starring Yoshitani Ayako and Asakawa Rina.

This work is a TV drama adaptation of “Please Be More Unfortunate Than Me,” which won the grand prize in the “Comico Women’s Manga Original Award” sponsored by the novel submission site Everystar in 2022 and was released on Comico in October 2023 with a total of 52 episodes.
The story begins when Natori Keiko, a full-time housewife in her first year of marriage and the older sister, played by Yoshitani Ayako, who just wants a normal, ordinary life of happiness, loses her husband to her beloved younger sister, Aihara Shiho, played by Asakawa Rina.

Munakata entered the entertainment industry after winning the judges’ special award at the 35th Junon Super Boy Contest.
He made his acting debut in MBS Drama Special Zone’s “Crashing High School Girl and Shut-In Teacher,” and this year he has appeared in Lemio’s “A World That Will Definitely Become BL vs. A Man Who Definitely Doesn’t Want to Become BL” Season 3 and YTV’s “Secret Alliance.”
This drama will be Munakata’s first regular role in a TV drama series.

This time, Munakata plays Takuto Uchiyama, Shiho’s boyfriend and university classmate, played by Asakawa. Although Uchiyama is treated as Shiho’s convenience, he does not blame her for her behavior and accepts it.

Regarding her enthusiasm for the series, Munakata commented, “This is my first time appearing as a regular in a drama series, and I’m truly honored!
“I decided to go into the shoot with all the passion and ambition I have right now. I hope everyone will enjoy watching Takuto’s frustration with Shiho, his growing strong emotions, and the direction his feelings take!” he said with confidence.

This will be Munakata’s first regular role in a TV drama, and expectations are high for what kind of presence he will bring.

“Please Be More Unfortunate Than Me” starts on July 9th.
