The long-awaited new work by Kitaro, a world-renowned artist and synthesizer player who has won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, a Grammy Award in 2001 and has been nominated 17 times, will be released in Japan in two consecutive videos and CDs in June and July!
Last November, Kitaro held a dedication concert at Daishizan Seidaiji Temple, known for the Echizen Daibutsu, one of the largest Buddha statues in Japan, in collaboration with digital hanging scrolls by Hasegawa Akira, the founder of projection mapping. The concert enveloped the interior of the Great Buddha Hall in a mystical light and enchanted the audience. “Zen: Live In Katsuyama,” a recording of the concert in audio and video form, will be released on June 26th in two formats, CD+DVD and CD+Blu-ray.
On July 17th, a CD+DVD of “Kukai 1250 Live in Zentsuji” will be released, which contains the Kitaro & Okano Hiroki celebratory concert “Kukai” held at Zentsuji to commemorate the 1250th anniversary of the birth of Kobo Daishi in 2023.
This work features a comprehensive collection of superb performances by two world-renowned musicians: Kitaro, whose music captivates audiences around the world, and Okano Hiroki, who has been performing at ceremonies around the world for over 30 years.
The video also included an improvisational performance accompanied by the powerful calligraphy of the world-renowned painter Kobayashi Fuyō.
The DVD contains video and audio footage of a historic concert held at Zentsuji Temple, the birthplace of Kukai.
In addition, the world tour “THE BEST OF KITARO LIVE IN 2024 TOUR” began with a SOLD OUT performance at “Arena Of Stars, Resorts World Genting” in Malaysia on June 23rd, and the live performances at “Marina Bay Sands” in Singapore on the 25th and 26th were also SOLD OUT, proving the band’s ability to impress and garner fame in every location.
On the 28th, they will be participating for the first time in the 27th RAINFOREST WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024, which will be held in Sarawak, Malaysia, attracting music lovers from all over the world. They will be the main act at the event, which will attract over 10,000 people.
They will be exciting Asia in June with their live performance at the “Kaohsiung Music Center” in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on the 30th!
With two long-awaited releases in Japan in two consecutive months and a world tour, Kitaro continues to be active around the world, so keep an eye on his future movements.
