[Takaishi Akari]Starring in the final chapter of the popular smartphone movie series “I Just Dropped My Phone”! “I’m honored to be a part of this important story.”

Actor Takaishi Akari has been confirmed to appear in the third installment of the hugely popular “Smartphone Movie” series, “I Just Dropped My Phone – The Final Chapter – Final Hacking Game” (released Friday, November 1st).

“I Just Dropped My Phone” is a social media mystery film starring Kitagawa Keiko, depicting a heroine whose life becomes threatened by a serial killer after she drops her smartphone.
This film is based on a novel by Akira Shiga, who was an unknown new author at the time, and when it was released in 2018 it was a huge hit, attracting over 1.5 million viewers and grossing 1.96 billion yen. It attracted attention for its warning about today’s internet society and its unexpected story development.

The sequel, released in 2020, “I Just Dropped My Phone, But the Captive Killer,” starring Yudai Chiba as a detective, once again drew attention for its forbidden tag-team with serial killer Ryo Narita, and even though movie theaters were closed during the state of emergency declaration due to COVID-19, it was a hit, attracting more than 900,000 viewers and grossing 1.19 billion yen. It was later made into a film in Korea, and a remake is currently in the works in China, making it the latest in the “smartphone movie” series that has become known not only in Japan but around the world.

Takaishi won the Best New Actress Award at the 15th TAMA Film Awards last year.
She has recently been cast in the role of the heroine in the drama “Crashing JK and haijin teacher Lesson 2” (MBS/TBS Dramaism), the film “Baby Warukyure Nice Days” (released September 27th), the film “Shinmai Kisha Trollco: If I Don’t Do It, Who Will?!” (released August 9th), and the anime film “Kimi no Iro” (released August 30th). She has continued to appear in films and dramas one after another, and is currently a young actor who is attracting a lot of attention.

This time, Takaishi will play Seto Chiharu, a flower shop employee who gets the smartphone of Tomita Makoto, played by Tanaka Kei, a familiar face in the “Smartphone Movie” series who appeared in both the first and second installments, caught on the earphone cord and drops it.

Regarding her appearance in this film, Takaishi commented, “I’ve been watching the series since the first one so I was really happy when I heard I would be appearing in it. I am also very honored to be a part of this important story which marks the final chapter of the series. Seto Chiharu, who I play, is a flower shop clerk! How will she relate to the story? Be sure to go to the theater and experience the thrill that you can only experience in this film!” She expressed her joy at being able to appear in a work that she had watched herself.

In addition to Takaishi, a star-studded cast of actors appearing in the film for the first time has also been announced, including Otani Ryohei as Kim Kang-hoon, who will speak the entire film in Korean, Sano Shiro as Jeong Hak-seon, Matobu Sei as Kubota Itsuko, and Inozuka Kenta as Nagase Akira.

The film has also been officially invited to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) to be held in Bucheon, South Korea.
It has also been announced that the film will have a world premiere, raising expectations even higher for the release of the final chapter.
