After 14 years, the collaborative album “UTAU” by Taeko Onuki and Ryuichi Sakamoto, released in 2010, will be released on vinyl for the first time on July 3rd this year, much to the fans’ awaited anticipation. In addition, the live footage “UTAU LIVE IN TOKYO 2010”, recorded from the UTAU tour held at the Tokyo International Forum on December 10th and 11th in the same year, will also be released on Blu-ray for the first time at the same time. (The DVD has already been released.)
To commemorate this release, a special screening of the live footage “UTAU LIVE IN TOKYO 2010” will be held for three weeks only from July 5th (Friday) to July 25th (Thursday) at 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku, a movie theater with sound supervision by Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The screening will be a super high quality version using the sound system “SAION Super Real Effects (SSRE)” that can only be experienced at this theater, supervised by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The sense of realism is as if you were listening to the two of them in concert at the Tokyo International Forum. It will be a special viewing experience that you can’t get at home.
In addition, during this special screening period, on July 15th (national holiday), there will be a screening with a special talk event featuring Taeko Onuki!
At the talk event before the screening, Mr. Susumu Kunizaki, who was an editor for “Sound & Recording Magazine” at the time and was present at the “UTAU” album recording, which took place over 10 days at Sapporo Geimori Studio, will participate as the moderator. We plan to hear stories including valuable behind-the-scenes stories from the recording at that time. During the talk event, we will also have the opportunity to listen to several songs from the “UTAU” analog record.
Tickets for this screening with special talk event will go on sale from 6pm today!
