MONKEY MAJIK, a four-piece rock band based in Miyagi Prefecture, have released the lead single “Scramble” from their 14th album “CIRCLES,” which will be released on Wednesday, July 24th, and the music video for the track has been released today.

“Scramble” is a luxurious, grown-up medium number with a melancholy, somewhat lonely melody and beautiful vocal interplay that is typical of MONKEY MAJIK.
It is a song that really hits home during this season when the melancholy of the rainy season is at its peak.
The music video was shot in Sendai, the hometown of the band members. Each scene is shot in a different setting, bringing to life the world of the song.

The 14th album “CIRCLES” contains 10 songs, including “Scramble,” released today, as well as “The Good Life,” the ending theme for TV Osaka’s midnight drama “Chikyu no Arukikata,” “Borderline,” the theme song for Nippon TV’s “Burari Tochuu Gesha no Tabi” from April to September, “Unknown,” the song commemorating the 20th anniversary of Tohoku Labor Bank, and “MONKEY MAJIK x Def Tech / OG Summer,” a collaboration with Def Tech that was released digitally on Wednesday, June 12th.
In addition, the Blu-ray and DVD with video will include “MONKEY MAJIK Studio Sessions 2024,” a studio live performance that was his first ever in a recording studio.

The nationwide tour to promote the album, “MONKEY MAJIK LIVE TOUR 2024 ~CIRCLES~,” will kick off at Zepp Sapporo in Hokkaido on Saturday, October 12th, and will travel to 15 cities across the country, culminating in Sendai GIGS in Miyagi on Sunday, December 1st.

This song came to me while watching people coming and going at Shibuya’s Scramble Crossing; the sight of so many people crossing each other reminded me of life.
In our busy days, we all have our own dreams and jobs, and sometimes we encounter unpleasant or troublesome things, feel depressed, or lose sight of what’s important. But even in those times, there are good things too.
This song was created with the feeling that in this imperfect world, we shouldn’t scramble for perfection, but that there are plenty of good things in it. We also included some love song elements, which is unusual for us, so we hope you’ll listen to it with someone special.
