On July 7th, Nanase Aikawa held her annual “NANASE’S DAY 2024” event at Spotify O-EAST in Shibuya.
The July 7th live concert, named after him, has been held since 2006, making this year its 18th year.
Fans enjoy the variety of content each time, but this year they also asked for song requests in advance on social media, so they were excited to see some rare songs being performed.
M1 starts with “Dahlia -She Knows Love-“.
It’s a special song for both her and her fans, as it can mark both the beginning and end of a live performance.
The upbeat songs “LIKE A HARD RAIN,” “Nostalgia,” and “Let Me Dance Like an Angel” followed, and then a rare song that was requested, “Renai Taishitsu,” whose lyrics were written by PUFFY’s Yumi Yoshimoto, got the crowd going.
Aikawa, who is currently busy with final exams as a graduate student, honestly confesses, “I was really looking forward to this day, the day I would become the singer Aikawa Nanase.”
They then moved on to the ballad section with an episode inspired by the lyrics of “When the Fireworks End.”
He slowly performed the unreleased song “The Moment I Fell in Love” and Rebecca’s “Maybe Tomorrow” from his cover album released last year.
This performance, with its varied pace, is the result of a long career.
And the live show moved on to the second half.
She began with “Blue Star,” a song born out of her being a Yokohama BayStars fan, then performed the blues harp in “Her and My Circumstances,” followed by “COSMIC LOVE” and “BREAK OUT!,” and ended the main part of the show with Aikawa’s signature towel tune, “Shock of Love,” and “EVERYBODY GOES.”
The upbeat songs made them act like athletes pushing their limits, and the audience responded with just as many cheers as they could.
For the encore, they performed the unreleased song “Tsuki wo Tsunage”, and then their second son RIO appeared as a guest musician again this year as drummer and delivered a sharp performance of “Rusty Nail”.
Recently, she has been appearing on TV with her handsome son, and while performing with him, she recalls the first time they stood on stage together, revealing the face of a mother who is happy to see her son grow up.
In addition, this will be his first collaboration in a long while with Alkal’s Taisuke Inamura, who sang chorus for the album ROCK MONSTER.
While warming the audience with his light-hearted talk, he performed “POISON (a cover of Tomoyasu Hotei’s song)” and “Omatsuri Sawagi.”
The concert ended with a chorus of “I Can’t Be a Dreaming Girl.”
With a Zepp tour starting in August and the start of her 30th debut anniversary year in the wings, Aikawa Nanase’s hot summer has begun.
