[Kitaro]Proves his overwhelming presence at Malaysia’s largest music festival!

Malaysia’s largest music festival, the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF), is a highly acclaimed outdoor music festival held over three days in Kuching, Malaysia, with the backdrop of Mount Santubong in Sarawak, showcasing the diversity of world music. It has themes of cultural exchange, environmental awareness, and sustainability.

Performers from all over the world gather at this large-scale festival, which attracts the attention of 12 million people around the world, and among the 68 international musicians from 15 countries, Japanese artist Kitaro participated for the first time as a headliner on the first day, June 27th. The festival, which attracts more than 15,000 people, quickly sold out for the first time since its inception when it was announced that Kitaro would be participating for the first time, attracting attention.

In the afternoon of the day, Kitaro held a press conference with 300 audience members and Malaysian media. While the media asked questions such as “I’m glad that Kitaro finally appeared at this festival” and “What are the highlights of this live performance?”, a female reporter asked, “My 14-year-old son looks up to Kitaro and is looking forward to this festival. He says he wants to be successful on the world stage like Kitaro, so I’d like some advice on what he should do.” In response, Kitaro replied, “I was in the tennis club when I was 14. I didn’t aim to be a musician from the beginning. The tennis club was a sports club that trained my mental strength. If you want to be anything, you can be anything. If he wants to do what he wants to do, his dreams will come true.” The audience exclaimed in admiration at his advice. He also said, “I’m glad to have been invited to this beautiful festival that is in harmony with nature. I hope you enjoy my live performance that I respect tonight,” which made the press conference venue erupt in excitement and raised expectations for the live performance.

The headliner, GREEN STAGE, is a mysterious stage with a tall forest behind it, like a set. The stage is said to have a capacity of 12,000 people, but the crowds were so large that they crossed the hills, and the total number of people easily exceeded 15,000.

When Kitaro appeared on stage, the contents of the world tour were based on the theme of the album ZEN released on June 26th, and the performance started with a session of Taiko and Taiko drums, followed by a session of Japanese traditional instruments, and the call of “KITARO I LOVE YOU,” “ARIGATO,” and “KITARO!” never stopped. The performance was of course full of excitement about the Silk Road, but the song “Kyouen Matsuri” is a very famous song that is played at airports and sung at celebratory events in Southeast Asia, and the audience joined together in a chorus to the melody of the synthesizer, creating a great excitement.
The venue was filled with non-stop calls for Kitaro, and the atmosphere was mystical, as if to purify the soul, with some audience members even bursting into tears, creating a great excitement.
It was a truly impressive and magnificent headlining performance that proved Kitaro’s presence on the world stage.
