This year marks the 25th anniversary of Goto Maki’s CD debut, and she has been announcing a number of anniversary projects.
Following the digital release of their long-awaited new song “CLAP CLAP,” their first in about 13 years, it has been decided that they will release a completely original mini-album, “prAyer,” on September 4th.
“prAyer” is the first release since the digital cover album released two years ago, and the long-awaited new original work since “Love Words (VOICE)” released in 2011. This mini-album contains 7 songs that Goto Maki, who is celebrating her 25th anniversary this year, is sending out to show off her “resurrection” and “adventure”, and the announcement of the work is sure to generate a lot of buzz not only among fans. The songs from this album, which has the same title as the previously announced 25th anniversary solo tour “Goto Maki 25th Anniversary Live Tour 2024 ~ pr∀yer ~”, will undoubtedly be fully deployed in live performances, making this year’s Goto Maki even more unmissable.
The album’s worldview, from the title “prAyer” (Prayer) to the strong yet delicate psychological depiction and even her outlook on life, beautifully sings about Maki Goto herself, both now and in the future. While incorporating a new approach to sound that mixes various genres without clinging to the past, it is an ambitious work that has evolved more powerfully than the catchy sound of her idol days, as represented by the single “CLAP CLAP.”
The artwork and video foreshadowing the single’s arrival, which is truly like “floating like a butterfly, stinging like a bee,” also establish the world view of this work.
The “First Production Limited Edition” will be released in a luxurious box in limited quantities, and in addition to the CD containing all 7 songs, the Blu-ray will also include a limited version of the music video, as well as making-of and behind-the-scenes footage.
