The world-renowned Kitaro and Okano Hiroki have released a celebratory concert piece to commemorate the 1,250th anniversary of the birth of Kobo Daishi Kukai!

Hiroki Okano, a representative of the global ambient and new age music scene who performs across genre boundaries such as electronic music, traditional music, and world music, on the themes of earth consciousness, cosmic consciousness, and prayer, will collaborate with Kitaro, a world-renowned artist and synthesizer player who has won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and a Grammy Award and has been nominated 17 times, to release an album on CD and video on July 17th.

To commemorate the 1,250th anniversary of the birth of Kobo Daishi in 2023, a CD+DVD will be released entitled “Kukai 1250 Live in Zentsuji,” which contains the “Kukai” celebratory concert held by Kitaro and Okano Hiroki at Zentsuji Temple.

This album contains all the great performances by two world-renowned musicians: Kitaro, whose music captivates audiences around the world, and Hiroki Okano, who has been performing at ceremonies around the world for over 30 years.

The video also includes prayers by Zentsuji monks, an improvisational performance with the powerful calligraphy of world-renowned painter Kobayashi Fuyō, and footage and audio of a historic concert at Zentsuji, the head temple of Kukai, the birthplace of Kukai. This is the definitive edition of the solemn yet holy entertainment that resonated in Zentsuji!

In June, Kitaro embarked on his world tour “THE BEST OF KITARO LIVE IN 2024 TOUR,” which included two dates in Malaysia and Singapore, where he headlined Malaysia’s largest event in front of over 15,000 people, and also successfully completed an Asian tour in Taiwan with a capacity of over 4,000 people.
The Echizen Great Buddha release is currently on sale in June, making this the second highly anticipated release in a row in Japan.

Hiroki Okano will be appearing at the MEDICINE FESTIVAL in Delhi, India on August 9th, and in the UK from August 14th to 19th.
He is scheduled to appear at the OSHO MYSTIC HEART FESTIVAL Evening concert in the UK on August 23rd, the Dartmoor concert in Devon, UK on August 29th, and the Festival of Life in Nagano, Japan from August 29th to September 1st.

The superb performances by Kitaro and Okano Hiroki, who continue to be active all over the world, are a must-see.
