At 7:07pm on Monday, July 15th, the official Da-iCE X, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LINE icons suddenly froze up, and the Music Video for “Story”, Official Dance Practice, and Music Video – Behind The Scenes were all simultaneously premiered on YouTube, with each thumbnail also froze up.
This was a device that was in keeping with the worldview of “FAIRY TAIL,” with which Da-iCE has a tie-up song, and it was made to look as if Da-iCE’s official SNS had been covered in a freezing spell by Gray Fullbuster, a character in the story and the protagonist’s rival, an ice-sculptor.
The frozen icons gradually thaw over the course of days, and this is set to be thawed by the protagonist Natsu Dragneel’s fire magic.
Another twist was that the YouTube premiere time for each video was set to “07:07”, and the number 7 was chosen as a keyword, based on elements from the anime, such as the Seven Flame Dragons from “FAIRY TAIL” / July 7, X777, and the name of the main character Natsu being replaced with a number (two 7s). Elements from “FAIRY TAIL” were incorporated at key points, creating a twist that drew in fans of the original work.

▼Da-iCE “Story” MV – Behind The Scenes (Premiere on August 4, 2024 at 7:07 PM)
This incident has caused a lot of speculation and surprise on social media, with many fans of Da-iCE and the original work who are familiar with “FAIRY TAIL” sharing comments such as, “It’s like he’s gradually thawing, reminiscent of Natsu’s flames!”, “It’s the theme song for ‘FAIRY TAIL’ so maybe it has something to do with ice and fire”, and “This is a representation of the fire dragon destroying it with its iron fist!!” This has become a hot topic, with many fans speculating and expressing their surprise on social media, even among fans of the original work and those who are familiar with “FAIRY TAIL”.
Da-iCE will release their new album “MUSi-aM” (pronounced: museum) on October 2nd, and are currently holding a tour to commemorate the 10th anniversary of their major debut.
Their momentum is still going strong, so keep an eye on them in the future!
