It has been announced that Daichi Miura’s new song “Kokorobeat”, which he wrote and provided as the official support song for TEAM JAPAN, which will be competing in the Paris 2024 Olympics, will be released digitally on July 26th.
The new song “Heartbeat” was created based on the keyword “heartbeat,” which is the sound of a beginning for people, as it is the “beginner’s intention” that people remember when they take a step forward, and the sound of a new “beginning” for that person after they have taken that step.
The song combines a beat that inspires each individual athlete with a warmth that creates a sense of unity as one team, TEAM JAPAN.
The song was used in the TEAM JAPAN concept movie, the first of its kind produced by the JOC, with the concept of “Have the courage to take a step forward” in preparation for Paris 2024, and is being shown on TV commercials and in the athletes’ village.
Along with Miura’s powerful new song “Heartbeat,” the album features footage of TEAM JAPAN’s symbolic athletes at the Paris 2024 Games, Abe Uta (Judo), Abe Hifumi (Judo), Ishikawa Yuki (Volleyball), Hashimoto Taiki (Gymnastics/Artistic Gymnastics), Minobe Kazuyasu (Fencing), and TEAM JAPAN’s next symbolic athletes, Fujinami Akari (Wrestling) and Honda Akari (Swimming/Competitive Swimming), when they were just taking their first steps as children, as well as footage of them performing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games. The album was produced with the hope of inspiring children all over Japan to “take the courage to take a step forward” in various fields, not just in sports, through the images of these athletes performing well at the Olympics.
In advance of the song’s release, the 60-second TEAM JAPAN TV commercial “Have the courage to take a step forward” was recently released on YouTube, and has received many comments such as, “I’m cheering you on with the sound of my heart beating,” “I got goosebumps from the first phrase!” and “I can’t wait to hear the whole thing.”

It’s made so coolly that it brings back memories.
The photo was from when I first started fencing in my first year of high school, and it really reminded me of that first step I took at that time.
Combined with Daichi Miura’s song, it reminds me that the Olympics are finally about to begin, and it reminds me of the courage I felt back then that created excitement, and it makes me feel like I can take on the challenge with great force.
