Micro Ambient Music collaborates with sauna facility “Shibuya SAUNAS”

“Micro Ambient Music,” released by commmons as a tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto, will play specially selected and mixed music for this program in the sauna room “SOUND SAUNA” at Shibuya SAUNAS.
The video can be viewed from August 5th to September 1st in “SOUND SAUNA,” a sauna room equipped with a sound system at Shibuya SAUNAS, which is produced by Tanaka Katsuki, author of the manga and essay “Sauna-do” and “Sauna Ambassador” appointed by the Japan Sauna and Spa Association.

The space allows you to comfortably immerse yourself in a sauna while experiencing the world of non-instrumental sounds that Ryuichi Sakamoto pursued in his later years, further developed by musicians who admire Sakamoto’s music of that era.
During the period, you can also enjoy this music outside of SOUND SAUNA by scanning the QR code installed in the store.

Micro Ambient Music
Sound over music. “Micro Ambient Music” was compiled as a tribute to the music of the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, who continued to focus on small things in his later years.
A four-hour feature-length work that pays tribute to Sakamoto’s later works, featuring 39 previously unreleased pieces by 41 musicians from Japan and abroad. Winner of the 2023 German Music Critics’ Award in the Electronic & Experimental category.
Ambient music, which brings about a sense of tranquility when played, has many definitions. Among them, the style that Ryuichi Sakamoto pursued is evident in the music of his later years, when he began to make extensive use of non-instrumental sounds such as field recordings and noise. “Micro Ambient Music” is a memorial work woven by musicians who admire Sakamoto’s music from that era.
Vols. 1 to 6 will be released on analog and digital from May 29, 2024.
