RHYME SO is a dance music duo consisting of Shinichi Osawa of MONDO GROSSO and Australian poet/performer/DJ/producer RHYME, whose work has been included in 88rising compilations and has attracted attention from overseas music media.
They have released a new remix of “DEEP IN VOGUE feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wuh Oh,” a cover of Malcolm McLaren’s legendary hit “DEEP IN VOGUE,” which was released in January 2023 and became a hot topic, along with new video.
Featuring legendary British pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor on vocals, the cover version updates the original’s modern, intelligent dance groove with a new interpretation, and has been self-remixed into uplifting electro dance music.
It was released alongside a stylish and cool video of the dance unit MASHUFO performing hand voicing.
It’s been over a year since the cover version of “DEEP IN VOGUE,” the origin of VOGUE dance, was released, but it would be a shame to keep this dance-oriented self-remix, so I decided to release it on YOUTUBE. Please enjoy the video of MASHUFO’s improvised “Hand VOGUE” as well.
We wanted to add this YouTube only release of “DEEP IN VOGUE” for the DJ’s and groovers out there this season.
This beautiful one take of our dancers from MASHUFO duo is like a conversation of hands.

RHYME SO Profile
RHYME SO is a dance music duo consisting of Shinichi Osawa of MONDO GROSSO, a leading Japanese music producer who has created numerous hits and has always pushed the Japanese music scene forward, and Australian poet, performer, DJ, and track maker RHYME. Combining Shinichi Osawa’s beats that have been shaking the floor with RHYME’s witty lyrics that sharply interpret modern life, they create an avant-garde style club sound, pioneering a new era of electronic sound. Their debut single “Just Used Music Again” was released by 88rising in 2019 and was also included in the 88rising compilation “Head In The Clouds II”. It was added to popular playlists on various streaming services and attracted attention from overseas music media.
In the spring of 2020, RHYME released “FashionBlogger,” a disco track featuring his cynical and witty lyrics. The video, set in a fictional figure skating competition and featuring MILK, who gained popularity on RuPaul’s Drag Races, has been viewed 2 million times on YouTube. Since then, he has released singles “Psyche” and “HOT” during the COVID-19 pandemic, and is also known for his work on the music for the movie “DINER” and the anime “BANANA FISH.” His latest single, “Poseable,” will be released by 88rising’s new label, 88INFINITY. In 2024, he will release his first album, “IAFB,” and will be sending cutting-edge music from Tokyo to the world.
