The four-member rock band I Don’t Like Mondays. (IDORA) have announced the release of their digital EP “FOCUS” on Wednesday, October 9th, which will be the culmination of their 10th anniversary since their debut.
In addition, details were announced for the band’s first free live concert, which will be held on Saturday, September 7th at the Festival Square on the 2nd floor of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of their debut, and they have released three digital singles in succession (the third, “Sunset Girl,” will be released next week on the 21st (Wednesday).
They have been very active, including a China tour, a setlist voting tour in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka, and the “Island Tour” which has taken them to 13 cities outside of Honshu.
The title “FOCUS” represents the unique musicality that was discovered over the course of 10 years, and also represents a focus on the future rather than a look back at the past 10 years.
The album will consist of seven songs in total, including the previously released singles “New York, New York,” “Lonely Dancers,” and “Sunset Girl,” as well as four newly recorded songs.
It has also been decided that a special version will be sold, which will include a music card that will allow the songs to be downloaded, as well as a version that comes with a T-shirt commemorating the 10th anniversary of their debut.
The T-shirts will be available in two versions, and those who pre-order will be entered into a lottery to win a ticket to watch rehearsals for the national tour starting this autumn.
The band also announced that they will be holding their first ever free live concert.
“I Don’t Like Mondays. FREE LIVE 10th ANNIVERSARY” marks the 10th anniversary and will be a fantastic time for fans ahead of the “FOCUS” ASIA TOUR starting this autumn. The event will be held on Saturday, September 7th at the Festival Square on the 2nd floor of Odaiba DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. Doors open at 3:00pm and the show begins at 3:30pm.
This is a rare chance to see Idolla at their best in their 10th anniversary for free, so if you haven’t seen them live yet, be sure to check it out.
If you pre-order the EP “FOCUS” at the free live venue, you will be given a ticket on a first-come, first-served basis to watch the live performance from the front area.
In addition, a crowdfunding campaign to commemorate the free live concert has also been decided.
Their hectic 10th anniversary is finally approaching its climax.
