The second installment of Astral Communications’ self-produced event “Shakkei”, “Shakkei” act.2 “(Air)Translator”, will be held on Saturday, October 12th at Tokyo Metropolitan Church and on Saturday, October 26th at Kyoto Shimei Kaikan.
“Borrowed Scenery” (pronounced “Shakkei”) is a live event by Astral Communications with the theme of “referring to new scenery.”
The first event was held in May of this year at METRO in Kyoto, where Astral Communications is based, with Yukichi Kasaku/men as guest.
This will be the second time the event is being held, and it will be held at two venues in Tokyo and Kyoto, with guest Haruka Kimijima, whom the members have long admired.
This time around, “Shakkei” will be held in venues that are slightly different from their usual live shows: the Tokyo edition will be in a church, and the Kyoto edition will be at the Shimei Kaikan, which is registered as a tangible cultural property. As such, they plan to perform arrangements and sets that are suited to the venue.
Tickets are available for reservation starting today.
In addition to general tickets priced at 4,000 yen, student discount tickets are also available for 3,000 yen.
The performance is always accompanied by the scenery that is there.
The musician translates the air into sound, the sound changes the color of the air, and the musician translates that air back into sound. Through this process, the air gradually becomes a landscape, and the sound becomes music.
May this day be a day where we sing of the air that changes with every breath.
